Wondering whether to splash out & try this for my super dry hair. I’ve tried lots of cheaper conditioning treatments but not seen any real improvement so far. Would anyone recommend Phillip Kingsley Elasticizer?

I use Olaplex 3 once a week and 6 after every hair wash. My hair is Fineish but lots of it and has a tendency to frizz. Olaplex completely removes the frizzness.

ArabeI · 26/01/2022 13:43

I occasionally use the elasticizer overnight. I think it's great. Olaplex 8 hair masque I wasn't as keen on but have since repurchased (again like to use overnight or for a couple of hours, if possible). I also rotate with other masques, including plain old coconut oil.

ArabeI · 26/01/2022 13:47

People on past threads have mentioned that using plain old castor oil as that's the main ingredient of the elasticizer, as a pp has also said. I know someone ( I'll have to check with them) who used to use castor, with good results, but I think it was mixed with something like olive oil for easy application.

I love PK elasticizer!

Have used for a decade or so. I try to leave it on as long as possible, a few hours normally.

Second the Bleach London Reincarnation Mask. Has really helped my long, fine but lots of it, coloured, menopausal hair.

Also a fan of the superdrug argan oil one, works wonders on my bleached hair, definitely worth a try for the price before going for a Pricier one

SerendipitySunshine, it's a pre-shampoo conditioning treatment that you apply quite sparingly to damp hair - the ends and mid-lengths. You can leave it on for anything from 15 minutes to overnight, with your hair wrapped in a plastic shower cap or, as a PP said in cling film. Then you shower, shampoo and condition as usual. I'd say the drier your hair, the longer you should leave it on.

It works well for me (thin, fine hair) and gives it more body and bounce, while making it supersoft and sleek. I got a litre on special offer and I honestly think it will last me a lifetime.

Obvs, I'm talking about the PK Elasticiser here - sorry for not making it clear!

MilduraS · 26/01/2022 21:05

I have a big bottle from QVC. I use it weekly and leave it on with a shower cap for about an hour. Occasionally I put it on for 15 minutes if I have some extra time in the morning. It works really well on my fine thinning hair.

I have 2 new unopened tubes of his elasticizer if anyone wants them (free) Came in a gift box at Christmas and I have my hair routine sorted so I don't want them. Postage free from pet and smoke free home.

Much better than olaplex and better value for money. Unfortunately, I am not very disciplined with regularly doing these things so I can’t comment on it’s effects if used consistently!

LoisLane66 · 28/01/2022 20:09

@Accountzero
I have two and one already been bagged. Will post tomorrow morning. Freepost. It's 40ml. Pomegranate and Cassis.

Peanutbuttercupisyum · 28/01/2022 20:12

It’s amazing. After 2 weeks of using twice a week it changed my hair completely. Soft smooth and untangled, with volume

hartof · 28/01/2022 20:18

I love it! I only bought it at Xmas the first time I followed the instructions and left for 20 mins and it felt nice but the next few times I have slept with it in and my hair is so so soft the next day! I only bought the 75ml one and I've just used the last so I've bought the 150ml and the split end bonder. I've used so many treatments and nothing is better than this.

BillyAndTheSillies · 28/01/2022 20:26

I got it in the M&S beauty calendar and bought a full sized one at Christmas. Hair masks usually make my hair soft but limp, but PK just makes my hair soft and shiny, I'm converted.

TabithaTittlemouse · 28/01/2022 20:32

Another who got it in the m and s calendar! I love it.
I leave it on overnight. I should do it more regularly but I’m too forgetful.

Damsel · 28/01/2022 22:55

The Christophe Robin treatments are much better than any others.

I’ve tried PK Elasticiser, masks & treatments by Pureology, Kerastase, Redken. Salon Professional, Sebastian, Kiehls etc. They all pale into insignificance compared to Christophe Robin.

Try the prickly pear treatment or the Aloe Vera one. The shampoos are also brilliant, especially the salt one before you apply a treatment. It’s an expensive brand but you use very little & results are superb. Their own site often has offers & also Look Fantastic.

Just thought I’d update this thread to say I’ve now tried the PK Elasticizer and am really pleased with the improvement in my hair so far - less frizz, more shine & a bit of body too.

Thanks very much @LoisLane66 for sending me your PK Elasticizer, really kind of you!
