Something to ‘lift’ skin appearance

I have gradually come away from wearing layers of foundation, concealer etc (I think I got a bit stuck in the 90s!) to wearing not much more than filling my gappy over plucked eyebrows and concealer, particularly under my eyes. My skin isn’t bad now I’ve come off the pill and relatively blemish free finally.

I’m off to Boots this morning - what can I get that will just lift my natural skin tones and even things out a bit? Some of the products I’ve looked at which are light reflective just make me look like I’ve face planted into DD’s glitter…

Please help me stay away from the foundation now I’ve weaned myself off!

I should add - it’s a retail park Boots so doesn’t have anyone to ask other than the No7 person.

The hydaluminous No 7 is very popular

The erborium cc cream ? Or another cc / bb cream that you find gives a little glow

I like La Roche Posay Effaclar tinted moisturiser. Very light but evens things out. No sparkle but just a little more “sheen” than bare skin. Also doesn’t cause break outs.

You could look at Revolution at Superdrug for a more budget option - I haven’t tried their BB/tinted moisturiser type offerings specifically but like their concealers and the shade range is good.

Best thing I ever got is one of those jade gua sha face massager things. It’s outstanding. Works better than any cream I’ve had, skin feels amazing after. I got mine in a subscription box I think.

After many years of wearing absolutely no makeup, I've recently started wearing just mascara & the smallest amount of foundation. I use Lancome Teint Idole liquid foundation, an amount about half the size of a green pea for my entire face, applied over moisturiser with fingertips. It's very sheer & just makes my skin look smoother. No blush or anything as it's really natural & sheer. Basically I use it like a tinted moisturiser. I do own lipstick but I don't like using it, it wears off & I forget to reapply or even take it with me...

Maybe a bit of liquid highlighter on the top of your cheek bones and brow bones?

All great advice thank you.

I’ve used Le Roche before and found it really heavy / cakey on my skin, but that’s definitely the effect I want! I’ll check out Revolution instead, I think DD has some of their products.
