Plus size holiday wear

I'm taking myself from all this to spend a week in Rhodes at the beginning of April. ALONEGrin

It's going to be about 20* so not super hot. I'm a size 20/22, moving down and hopefully 20 by the time I go. I've bought a couple of dresses from SimplyBe, but there's hardly anything out there yet.

Is there anywhere selling reasonably priced stuff atm?

TIA

I find SHEIN's stuff is good and inexpensive, particularly for holidays as it's usually pretty lightweight stuff. I'm a size 16/18 and the fit is usually true to size too

AuditAngel · 24/01/2022 23:36

I like Curvissa, I’m currently a 22 but was a 24

QuizzicalEyebrows · 25/01/2022 09:35

M&S have some lovely beach dresses already going up to at least a size 24.

Florencenotflo · 25/01/2022 09:37

I like Yours clothing. I've bought summer stuff from there the last few years. It's decent quality, the only thing is I'm only 5'4" and sometimes things can be on the long side. Not such a problem with beach weather but trousers and jeans seem to always be too long!

QuizzicalEyebrows · 25/01/2022 09:37

Just look under swimwear.

SiobhanSharpe · 25/01/2022 09:39

Ive found Shein dresses to be on the small side.

QuizzicalEyebrows · 25/01/2022 09:49

Shein takes weeks to arrive and is not easy to return tbh

BeaLola · 25/01/2022 09:55

Prior to lockdown I have bought beach dresses from M&S and also light jersey dresses from Boden (when discounted) which have all survived well and have also had a few dress successes from H&M

Babysharkdoodoodood · 25/01/2022 12:06

Just realised I should have said that I've had a mastectomy on one side as well, so anything with a deep neckline is out.
Just got a swimsuit in the sale in amoena. Just really need dresses and tunics. Plus a few shrugs or cardies for evening

And I've only got 15kg. 😑

I make sure I read the reviews under each item and it shows people wearing the item and usually they comment what size they are and what they went for, I use that as a guide and it's always been ok. Again, if you've only got 15kg it's great for lightweight holiday stuff. Never had an issue with delivery times either - I think the longest I've waited is possible 2 weeks?

Obviously have no idea of your style but this is cute and high necked

trunumber · 25/01/2022 12:35

Jumpsuits. I'm plus sized. Dresses are a nightmare when it's warm because of chub rub. Jumpsuits stop that.

QuizzicalEyebrows · 25/01/2022 12:44

Avoid jumpsuits in a hot climate at any costs. A wet sweaty crotch is not a good look

itwasntaparty · 25/01/2022 12:46

Give it a couple of weeks and there will be loads of stock in everywhere. I like M&S for oversized coverups and beach dresses, DP and New Look can also be ok.

Shein are shite.

lindyloo57 · 25/01/2022 13:07

don't buy from shein its all polyester rubbish.

Gilda152 · 25/01/2022 13:11

Lot of Shein hate here Grin

Well as a customer I find their holiday clothes for curvy women to be pretty good, that's my recommendation.

It think M & S and DP look like old womens clothes but there we are

Didiplanthis · 25/01/2022 13:12

H+M do a plus size range which sometimes has good stuff in. And Modli do really good beach wear..Im a similar size to you and felt comfortable on the beach and by the pool for the first time ever in swimwear from them.

I just had a quick squiz on Thrift plus. Quite a few size 20 dresses. I have bought from there and apart from annoying delivery and return costs and needing to wash stuff first...it's great and virtuous! Have a lovely holiday.

Jumpingintomenopause · 26/01/2022 01:41

Debenhams have some great bargains online

SarahJessicaParker3 · 26/01/2022 06:21

TAKE ME WITH YOU!!!

Ahem. Sorry.

Also, Asos have a big plus size range and also H&M. Go in person to H&M though as quality can be hit and miss...so can Asos but obviously they don't have shops

Oblomov22 · 26/01/2022 06:37

Watching. I'm looking for similar for Majorca.

DSGR · 26/01/2022 06:40

By March the ships will be full of spring/summer. If you want to buy now I’d look at M&S and Monsoon

DSGR · 26/01/2022 06:43

Loads on M&S just filter dresses by beach and summer
