What to wear to a wedding with this dress?

My nephew is getting married at the end of March and I am thinking of wearing this dress:

Any ideas of what to wear with it, considering it will likely be quite cold...I am a size 22 with chunky ankles

I don't think a biker jacket is appropriate for a wedding. Far too casual

That really depends on the venue and couple, though.

This one is in a village hall, not a church. Don’t know how formal the rest of the wedding might be.

I can see it looking all kinds of fabulous with a fake fur tan-colour coat, black opaque tights, suede ankle boots, and a smart black trilby hat with a pheasant's feather in the band.

OP, if you do wear the burgundy dress, please consider silver jewellery rather than gold, at least not near your face, though ideally most people should be using one metal (mixed metals don’t work as well on everyone as we’ve been led to believe).

Burgundy is too cool and will cheapen the gold lustre of any gold jewellery, which has warm tones.

How old are you (roughly, eg 40s)?

I see you've already bought it. Do you have a more structured jacket/bolero to wear on the top? Or an evening style pashmina?

I personally wouldn't wear ankle boots at all! They cut the ankle in half and aren't flattering on anything other than a tiny ankle IMO. What is your overall shape? Hourglass, apple, V etc?

Black opaque tights and black suede heeled maybe ruched ankle boots to dress it up a bit
Faux fur knee length coat or wrap/cape and a fantastic evening bag

I'm early 50s, pear shape. Faux fur is sounding tempting...I love the white coat, but I don't think I would ever wear it again. I spend 90% of my life in muddy walking boots and cargo trousers

My friend has a coat like this she wears for special occasions (she bought years ago it for a winter wedding to wear over a silky dress)
