Ski jackets

Has anyone got any tips on where to get nice affordable ski jackets? Budget is no more than £100. I've been searching for weeks and have no clue where I can get something of good quality that will last me a good few years.

Sports Direct have a sale on- branded jackets at very reasonable prices.

Decathlon is your friend for skiwear (TKMaxx also does some but not usually at this time of year).

superram · 23/01/2022 19:53

All of the above plus Vinted.

LIZS · 23/01/2022 19:56

Dare2be, trespass, tkmaxx, decathlon, Blacks. Go for waterproof and windproof, zip pockets, inner cuffs, packable hood. You may get lucky at Snow and Rock or Ellis Brigham on sales.

neverenoughchelseboots · 24/01/2022 08:06

Another vote for Decathlon, reasonably priced and good quality with a good range of styles (although not looked this year.)

I feel your pain- decided on a last minute ski holiday & a very poor selection available.

I ended up with a jacket from trespass - still looking for salopettes though.

Mountain warehouse and go outdoors locally had a selection. Sports direct none to try on.

ParisNext · 24/01/2022 08:24

Sno n Rock and Decathlon.
I always buy plain black salopettes and change my jacket with fashion/colour/size/conditions over the years rather than matching top and bottom.

stringbean · 24/01/2022 08:26

Have a look at Surfanic. I picked up a lovely one there for dd pre-COVID which she has, sadly, not had a chance to wear yet. She bought salopettes in Decathlon - they have a good range of skiwear to suit all budgets.

SkiingIsHeaven · 24/01/2022 08:29

Go outdoors

SkiingIsHeaven · 24/01/2022 08:30

Sorry. Go Outdoors the shop. It was not an instruction.

Wagsandclaws · 24/01/2022 11:11

I went to Lapland in Dec and bought a new ski jacket from eBay ( there are shops on there ) for £45 from dare2be - really nice black one with a fur hood Smile

You can return it within 30 days if it's not right.

massistar · 24/01/2022 11:14

TK Maxx often have nice ones online.

Tickledtrout · 24/01/2022 11:33

Aldi have their ski wear online atm

wwthc990 · 24/01/2022 16:30

Decathlon. Totally fab and really cheap.

ChristmasTreeBee · 24/01/2022 20:18

I love my volcom one was about £150 in a sale about 3 years ago they are a tad expensive - should be able to get a decent priced one off eBay.

Bonfire is my 2nd go to, animal and Roxy used to do some great stuff but I’ve heard the quality isn’t that great anymore not like my Roxy snowboarding trousers that are 14 years old

Dd has one from dareto it was from go outdoor was about £70 she loves it

gogohm · 24/01/2022 20:20

I wear a 3 in one jacket from mountain warehouse - it's properly waterproof unlike ski jackets and more useful off the slopes

Nevercan · 24/01/2022 20:31

Try Dare2b they have a nice selection

SpeckledlyHen · 24/01/2022 20:33

Dare2B are good and not at all spendy, also decathlon. A lot of ski wear is actually really cheap these days. There are some really high end brands but honestly I rarely see them on the slopes these days. As long as the jacket is windproof and waterproof and has the little pocket on the left arm to fit your ski pass in you should be good. Depends what time of year you are going but anytime later on in the season (March) you don't want anything too warm anyhow. You can always layer up underneath.

XmasEveshopper · 24/01/2022 20:37

Columbia have a few in their sale at £100 or around that price and their stuff is always good quality. Depends on what size or style you're looking for.

FelicityFlops · 24/01/2022 22:19

Zalando sale might be worth a look.

GettingStuffed · 24/01/2022 22:49

I have this, it's great value for money, but if you want to wear layers to up a size, I'm a 16-18 and the 18 fits perfectly. www.blacks.co.uk/15910887/the-edge-women-s-nevada-snow-jacket-15910887
