DS(17) has lovingly collected patches, has bought a black denim jacket, and designed the layout. Now we need someone to sew them all on. Any ideas? We live in SE London. (Nobody local has been any help so far).

And another question from me: DS would like to have his limited-edition Converse resoled. My local Timpsons basically laughed at me. I realise it could be as much as a new pair, but they're of sentimental value so, within reason, I probably would be daft enough to pay what might seem a silly amount for a resole. Any ideas?

Any dry cleaners will usually offer basic repair/sewing services. Otherwise you’re best bet I’d to ask on your local community fb chat page. Or he could just fabric/hot glue them on.

Not sure about the converse though. There are specialist companies that restore retro trainers, they have videos on TikTok that I’ve seen before. I bet they could help but it won’t be cheap.

I've taken stuff to a local independent cobbler that Timsons had said no way to. Not converse but things like boots with a moulded soul. I've never found a thing yet that the indy cobbler couldn't do - it's worth a try. One pair had a sole very similar to doc martens except black, and I'd worn it right through. He replaced it by trimming it all down to almost nothing and gluing a new one on top, and it looked like brand new.

@BrightBlueCast have a look at the restory, they have sort out some knackered Dior sliders for me ( soles and cleaned them too ) they are very good.
