Trousers for very slim boys

Hoping someone can help, my DS is so slim and I just can't find trousers to fit him.

He's coming up 8 and has always been slim but short so Next skinny jeans fitted him with the elastic pulled right in. He can't wear joggers or cargo trousers as they are miles too big. I have to take a section of the elastic out of pyjamas. Hopefully you get the picture.

He's recently shot up in height and I've had to order age 9 for the length. They are falling off him.

Can anyone recommend super slim trousers / jeans please. They need to be slimmer fit than the next skinnies which I usually recommend to people with similarly slight sons Confused

H&M

H&M

M&S extra long school trousers, 2 ages younger than you need to buy standard trousers in (ie age 7 in your example above)

H&M definitely. They’re the only jeans that stay up on DS1.

Gap jeans are good for my tall skinny son.

FrecklesMalone · 22/01/2022 13:50

We used Gap, H&M and online schoolshop. I'm afraid it gets worse. DS is 6'4" and a 29 waist!

Vertbaudet has a special narrow fit range, super-slim. All others mentioned here are too big for my DS.

For school trousers, I’ve always bought Next slim fit, in 2 years older than DS and slim fit. It’s only now at 13 that he’s filled out to regular fit. Still in trouser size 2 years older than his actual age.

Oh and for joggers I warmly recommend Name It www.nameit.com/gb/en/gb. They are slim and also have this inner tightening rubber, like baby clothes. Only joggers DS can wear (he's 8yo but 145 cm tall so wearing size 11-12)

Vertbaudet, very slim and look great. For school M+S do a super skinny slim fit online that are really good. Both Vertbaudet and M+S have adjustable waists and M+S also do hems that can be let down so you get an extra length as they grow.

M&S slim fit school trousers are good for my skinny boy. I also really like the Frugi Chinos although they don't make them anymore so I look for these second hand.

LemonCake79 · 22/01/2022 19:08

Thanks all. I should have said we have the M&S school ones. They are fab aren't they? DD uses them too. DH and I are both tall so none of this is a surprise. Alas I'm no longer thin with it.

The Verbaudet range look great. I've ordered them. Bit concerned the H&M might be like Next from reading reviews... will check out the nameit joggers. He wears joggers for PE but that's it because they usually look so voluminous on him.

Thanks again. ❤️

Is it school trousers you're after? If so, try Nutmeg (morrisons). My ds is tall - 6y3mo and 130cm, which is the average height of an 8yo. He's a bit of a bean pole though, and can easily fit into waistbands of a 5-6yo.

French or Spanish brands are usually slimmer. U.K. brands never ever fit my DS.

Oh yes, good point. DS had some trousers from a little independent kids clothes boutique from a french brand called Capitaine Tortue, which fitted him very well when he was particularly beanpole-y.
