New job - on a budget

I've got a new job in a school, (non teaching staff).

I've been in uniform most of my career, so I don't have a clue!

Not fashionable, late thirties, size 18...possibly a 20 in some things as I can't stand anything too tight on my tummy and also will need layers for walk there and back

I'm on a budget so want to buy just a few things and wear them on rotation.

Not sure about footwear either, but don't think trainers are allowed.

Any ideas please?

Posted far too soon!

I have the following (size 16 -18)

1 x wide leg joggers Matalan
1 x tapered trouser (warehouse - old)
1 x print midi skirt (primark)
1x plain midi skirt ( hm)
2x midi dress (next outlet)
2 x pattern tops (mango tk maxx)
2 x plain tops (Asda and sainsburys)

I can get two weeks from this (just about). Everthing is elasticsted. Shoes are £10 wide fit loafers from Matalan with an orthotic insole they last a year and go with everthing.

I would buy if budget permits:

1x trouser
1x skirt
4 tops
1 dress and see how you feel I like Asda at the moment or Matalan.

One of my colleagues has developed a work uniform - two trouser suits - one black and one grey, a navy dress, a camel dress and a grey skirt and several coloured blouses and scarves that she switches around to make different outfits. Some were from supermarkets, others from Next in the sale so all done quite cheaply.

PS congratulations on the new job
