Would you do this? Buying multiples

I bought 2 jumpers, same design, in 2 different colours that I really like. Would you buy them again if you thought you'd get loads of wear from them?

KatharinaRosalie · 21/01/2022 16:26

Yes, I always do that. If I find something that I really love, would be silly not to.

OneRingToRuleThemAll · 21/01/2022 16:27

I recommend three, just like the jeans on another thread.

marriednotdead · 21/01/2022 16:28

Definitely. Usually with jeans/trousers but I've got a couple of tops like this too.

psuedocream3 · 21/01/2022 16:39

Yes definitely. My favourite jumper I have in black, white and grey, and looking to buy a second white one as it is a wardrobe staple, I was so upset when I shrunk my white one in the wash due to a stubborn coffee stain.

monfuseds · 21/01/2022 16:44

I do this, often with shoes & jeans

TheFlis12345 · 21/01/2022 16:46

Yup. I have done this several times with staple items as I know I would be gutted if they got damaged or wore out.

uncomfortablydumb53 · 21/01/2022 16:50

Yes, I've always done this with tops jeans and shoes

ItsRainingTacos · 21/01/2022 16:52

I do this all the time, even for the DCs.

I do this with plain t shirts, shirts, jumpers, jeans, trousers, skirts. I even have two pairs of the same trainers 😅.

I wouldn't do this with anything else though, especially if it's a statement item/distinguishing patterns/colours etc.

grey12 · 21/01/2022 16:54

Depends on how wearable it is. If I found the perfect white tshirt YES!!! A more fashionable thing, no, it could look dated by the time I get to the last one I bought....

Pontypandytaxpayer · 21/01/2022 16:55

Yes, I bought 4 of the same jumper this year. They're perfect!

notacooldad · 21/01/2022 16:56

I've done it with cardigans.
Ive got the same style in yellow, red , coral, black, navy, powder blue and sage green.

Slingingcontest · 21/01/2022 16:57

Oh yes! I am a really odd shape so if I find something which fits and is in the right colour, I buy three!

Having said that, I am not intending to buy any clothes at all in 2022 because I need to focus on losing weight.

SleepyTraveller · 21/01/2022 17:07

Yes, especially with trousers. I'm an awkward shape, so a good fit is a rare thing. I currently have the same shirt in three different colours too.

BestIsWest · 21/01/2022 17:18

Yes always with jeans, jumpers and shoes.

WhoppingBigBackside · 21/01/2022 17:51

You need 3 if your MIL has a dog

WellTidy · 21/01/2022 17:54

Oh I always do this. I am a petite fit, which limits my options on the high street. I have the same petite for M&S cardi in maybe six colours. And I would buy a seventh if they came out with another one.

hugoagogo · 21/01/2022 19:00

Yes, if I like something I will always get at least one more. It's not like you can easily replace things; shops always improve stuff.Hmm

Judystilldreamsofhorses · 21/01/2022 19:02

I do this. I own the same Arket cardi in pretty much every colour way collected up over several years, and likewise with jeans. (Jeans more because I am very hippy but with a small waist and they are hard to get right!)

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 21/01/2022 19:06

Yes! I'm really fussy, so if I find something I love I often buy a couple.
For example:
Seasalt boots in black and brown
M&S mini dress - same style in two different patterns
Bravissimo dress in plain and printed
Clarks boots in black and brown
Multiple identical Jigsaw black tops, which they now annoyingly seem to have stopped selling

LunaTheCat · 21/01/2022 19:08

SilverGlassHare · 21/01/2022 19:10

I do this quite frequently, if I find something I like that suits me. I’m not exactly a doyenne of style though! I worry sometimes that I basically have a uniform, always wearing very similar clothes just in different colours.

GiveYourHeadAWobble · 21/01/2022 19:27

I’ve only ever done this once, with a pair of sandals. My feet are a strange shape so it’s hard to get sandals to fit me properly. These did, so I bought two pairs, and I’m glad I did because I have worn the first pair to death over three summers.

Oneforthemoneytwo · 21/01/2022 21:28

My biggest regret is not buying a second pair of very simple flat gold leather sandals with an ankle strap. They were supremely comfortable, looked good and went with everything. Most irritatingly they were about £12 from Tesco. Massive error

Ohyesiam · 21/01/2022 21:41

It’s my life’s ambition to have a Brora cardi in every colour of the rainbow, plus neutral😁

Boood · 21/01/2022 21:48

Every time I consider doing this and don’t, whatever it is has been discontinued when I go back for another later.
