Where to buy coats in size 4.

The zip on my main winter coat has broken completely and it was never that warm anyway so I need a new one.
I’m generally a size 4, and I ordered a nice coat in XS from Next which was so warm but also absolutely bloody massive - even taking into account the fact I’m 22 weeks pregnant the amount of spare material around my stomach was ridiculous, I looked like a child wearing their mother’s coat. Which to how I often look in coats and I’m getting sick of it.
Where sells actually small, and lovely and warm coats?

What about children's ranges?
I bought some Zara coats in age 13

They are cheaper too!

SickAndTiredAgain · 21/01/2022 14:27

Ooh I hadn’t considered children’s. Were they ok length-wise (I’m 5’4)?

Have you tried mangos teen range?

Bonheurdupasse · 21/01/2022 14:29

I got one in the reiss sale but very pricey.

Twirlyz22 · 21/01/2022 14:32

Oo or hollister?

Innocenta · 21/01/2022 14:41

Net a Porter

I’m usually a 4 as well, what type are you looking for? For down jackets my go to is Northface or Columbia. For a wool longline type coats Dorothy Perkins, ASOS, H&M & Whistles in a 4

I will have a look at those, thanks! I’m not overly fussed about style, just waterproof with a hood, and warm for standing around in playgrounds/parks while DD (2.5) runs around. And something I can get a bit muddy when DD wants picking up, so nothing too difficult to clean. I don’t like massively puffy ones, but other than that I’m fairly easy but I do get cold (and grumpy!) quickly.

H and M teenage range.

ShangPie · 21/01/2022 15:55

Try Uniqlo as well - they are Japanese and often run small. They have XS (and sometimes XXS)

Famous for their puffas and warm layers

Boriswentcamping · 21/01/2022 17:44

I have this problem too. I find Helly Hanson rain coats are quite petite, generally quite fitted and very practical. You get insulated ones too...

gogohm · 21/01/2022 18:05

Are you in the USA? The smallest size we even stock is a U.K. 6 here!

OperationRinka · 21/01/2022 18:25

H&M teens should be fine if you're 5'4"

GettingStuffed · 21/01/2022 22:43

Primark always has loads of size 4s

ChristmasPudding12 · 21/01/2022 22:46

GrazingSheep · 21/01/2022 23:26

Have you looked at Boden?

VioletRose91 · 22/01/2022 00:48

Definitely Zara or even Zara kids section think the 13-14 age fits up to 162cm tall!

There are size 4 in the UK Has been for years and years I remember when they first started selling size 4 You don't see them as often (especially now Topshop has gone from the high street!) But they're definitely sold
SickAndTiredAgain · 22/01/2022 19:09

Thanks for all the suggestions! I should definitely be able to find something in all of these.
