Are Coach bags good quality?

I am thinking about buying this in black, as an everyday, chuck everything in bag.

I am wondering about the quality and is it worth it for the discounted price?

I love Coach bags and think tiny one you have linked is really nice. That MN consensus seems to be they they are good quality.

I was really unlucky with a Coach bag I bought in that a leather fastening and metal hardware both snapped. Otherwise, the leather itself was in immaculate condition and looked as new otherwise.

SomeoneInTheLaaaaaounge · 20/01/2022 09:51

I honestly think they are rubbish and I wouldn't get one again -sorry.

IloveJudgeJudy · 20/01/2022 10:06

I've got a few Coach bags. I've been really happy with them. I've got a large hobo and a smaller baguette type bag. The leather feels much nicer than my DM's Radley that she bought and that really didn't last long at all as the leather 'ring' that attached the handle to the bag, wore thin very quickly.

lonelySam · 20/01/2022 10:45

I like them, I have both "vintage" and new ones. They are good quality and worth the money.

Westerman · 20/01/2022 13:20

I have 4 Coach bags and they're all good quality. Still look as good as when I bought them.

othgraph · 20/01/2022 13:21

I only have the sutton hobo crossbody and I got it at a discount and I'm not someone who is particularly careful with their bags and it's held up surprisingly well. It doesn't have a big C on it like the one in the link so not sure if that would be more prone to wear and tear. The leather on mine is quite durable though.

MissHavishamsMouldyOldCake · 20/01/2022 13:25

I too have the sutton hobo crossbody. It's black and quite plain which I like, and the leather is gorgeous. Great everyday bag. I'm not a fan of their jazzier designs.

I prefer cocinnelle in the same price range

Aderyn21 · 20/01/2022 15:03

I have a couple and I think the quality is very good. I bought ones without too much hardware though, so I don't know how that would age.

Supersimkin2 · 20/01/2022 15:06

Yes. Mine last forever.

DedalusBloom · 20/01/2022 19:18

I have just got this one ( can't seem to link it on the Coach website from my phone, but this style is on sale)

The quality of the leather is very very good and stiff and sturdy. I imagine it's going to age nicely.

I have other Coach bags that I use a lot and they hold up really well for what I would class as mid range price wise.

I know they're not seen as particularly fashionable but it's a brand I return to regularly ( and their sales are pretty good - often half price)

I’ve got lots and they wear incredibly well

The bag you’ve linked to is quite small though for a “chuck it all in” bag

WellTidy · 20/01/2022 20:14

I have a coach bag and I would love to have another. I see that the one you like is black - if it were in a lighter colour, I’d advise caution if wearing next to dark denim. Mine is bright yellow and the denim colour has transferred to the bag. I keep meaning to give it a clean with a leather cleaner to see if it come off, but I’m afraid of taking the yellow colour with it.

JolieJ · 20/01/2022 20:21

Real coach bags are excellent quality, I have a few and I'm very rough with them and they still look almost new.

mathanxiety · 20/01/2022 20:53

I have several vintage ones bought at thrift shops. They are fantastic quality. One had seen better days when I bought it but it cleaned up really well.

Toomuchleopard · 20/01/2022 21:07

I got this one in December. It’s excellent quality and I’ve used it every day since.

I have two one tan and one coral, had both for around 10 years and they still look and feel great. I only use the coral one in summer though.

I prefer this one as an everyday, chuck everything in bag. It looks bigger than the one OP linked to. Good price too!

OperationRinka · 20/01/2022 21:17

I always used to spend about a hundred quid on handbags and trash them over the course of a year. I was sceptical about the value of handbags costing over two hundred quid (chicken feed by S&B standards I know) because I doubted that more expensive bags would be magically more able to withstand the crap I put them through.

But I got a Coach bag in the sales 3 (or possibly 4) years ago and it's held up really well: I'm a convert.

Wideawakeandconfused · 20/01/2022 21:21

I have a few Coach - and other bags - and the quality of the leather is far superior. It’s buttery and supple.

DSGR · 20/01/2022 21:24

Coach is my bag company of choice - beautiful quality

ZenNudist · 20/01/2022 21:27

I've been a coach fan for years.

Purpleavocado · 20/01/2022 21:42

I like all mine, and they do good sales

Daisy829 · 20/01/2022 22:19

I love their bags and you get some great items in the sale. Returns are easy to. I would go for it op. It will last you years
