Dungarees

I bought these

www.fatface.com/women/clothing/jeans/lewes-dungarees/955900.html?dwvar_955900_color=blue%20black#q=Lewis&lang=en_GB&start=4

Always struggle with what shoes to wear with dungarees (but previously only wore them while pregnant)

Flat shoes - maybe pump type trainers? I don't think boots or Chelsea boots would go? Not doing heels at the moment but think they could look nice

Also how long should they be? They seems short but I got a regular length and I am not exactly tall at 5'4

I have similar from Hush, I wear slightly turned up with trainers (Nike Air force One) - I'm 41 (if that is Relevant!)

Chocomelon · 19/01/2022 16:54

@MissBridgetJones it kind of is. I'm a similar age to you and nearly put it in my OP Grin

I actually think the length is fine and I'm not used to them because I've often bought longer length jeans...

I've got these in corduroy, wearing them now in fact, with DMs. I wear them with my Adidas when it's not so cold.

Love them. So comfy and cosy!

GreeboIsMySpiritAnimal · 19/01/2022 17:14

And I'm 43. Smile

NotImpossible · 19/01/2022 17:20

I have these - I'm a couple of inches shorter than you and find them fine in length (I often struggle with stuff being too long so it's refreshing!) I've been wearing them with ankle boots - just as I would with jeans. Will switch to trainers in nicer weather. (Just fyi - I'm not fashionable!)

Chocomelon · 19/01/2022 17:26

@GreeboIsMySpiritAnimal I tried them on and I do like them a lot

I'm tempted by the cord ones too!

@NotImpossible yes see if I was shorter I think the length would be fine but i wonder whether I need a longer length

I shouldn't as I'm average height or a bit shorter but I'm used to longer jeans if they are straight cut

Apologies - I misread your OP - my comment was not useful! Grin I'll pipe down now Smile

fantasmasgoria1 · 19/01/2022 21:21

I love dungarees! My next pair will be dinosaur ones from run and fly!

Invasionofthegutsnatchers · 19/01/2022 21:23

I want these in dark red

Puffalicious · 19/01/2022 21:25

They look lovely. I wear Nike Cortez with mine in better weather, at the minute my new, chunky Joules Chelsea boots. Always rolled up or I look a bit children's presenter/ workman (with boots). I have mid denim and black denim dungarees and never have them off atm.

Chocomelon · 19/01/2022 22:11

@Puffalicious I might try rolled up with Chelsea boots

I loved dungarees when pregnant with both my kids and now I have these I already look forward to wearing them!

I might see if I can get done if the cord ones as well. They are quite flattering and DH seemed to like them on me.

These ones I got were £30 which I think is a bargain and so much comfier than jeans.

I wear mine with Allbitds high top Mizzles, Aro Joaneta trainers or Birkenstocks. I’m considering some suede desert boots.

Custardpudding · 19/01/2022 22:44

I have their cropped flared legs ones and love them! Wear them in summer with flips flops or canvas pumps.

Chocomelon · 20/01/2022 08:05

I do like the look of slightly turned up so they stop above the boots

Puffalicious · 20/01/2022 08:33

Yes! This is the only way I can wear them, otherwise they look funny. They go any, old way with Birkies/ Trainers bur not boots!
Purplecatshopaholic · 20/01/2022 08:37

Love those. Awesome with high tops or DMs

Chocomelon · 20/01/2022 13:19

They don't look short like this

But what about now

I think it is because of the way they were on the bag they get flattened IYSWIM

sonjadog · 20/01/2022 13:21

I wear mine with DMs in winter and with trainers in summer. I roll them up one extra roll when I wear them with trainers. I find they look better like that.

Puffalicious · 20/01/2022 17:02

They don't look short- they look just right.

Chocomelon · 20/01/2022 20:03

@Puffalicious thank you. I've definitely just bought too long jeans whenever I bought straight leg but then that must be years ago as I always wear skinnies now so it's not an issue

@sonjadog do you turn them up above the DMs too? I have aww. Photos online of them rolled up above trainers and they do look nice

OP posts:
KirstenBlest · 20/01/2022 21:01

The regular length is 29" inside leg, which would be about right on me (nearly 5'4" and not long-legged). Wear them turned up with DM-style boots. or tucked into boots, or with trainers or similar.

I wear them and jeans with these or these

Iwould also wear them with daps or birkenstocks

Chocomelon · 23/01/2022 13:57

@KirstenBlest had to Google "daps" Grin
