Air and Grace or other recommendations

Just discovered that I am getting a small bonus from work this month which is the perfect excuse to replace my white trainers with a new pair for spring.

I like platform style and have been tempted by air and grace, they look lovely and are apparently very comfortable

Can anyone vouch for them or I am open to other recommendations!

I have a pair of Air & Grace, bought them with Christmas money last year and intended to keep them for best, however, they are literally the most comfortable trainers I have ever worn and I ended up wearing them every day, they're now battered and I wish I could afford another pair for best! I love them!

Shinyandnew2022 · 19/01/2022 11:58

Ooh thanks @MattDillonsEyebrows I was wondering if anyone would reply !
This is what I have heard before so that's great endorsement.
I have some from Whistles that I spent a similar amount on and they were never comfortable enough for a full day out so comfort is important to me .
What style are yours ?

I like them a lot but I honestly struggle to justify paying £££ for white anything.

nordica · 19/01/2022 14:30

I bought a pair of Air & Grace when they first became popular a few years back and they were the most painful trainers ever! I don't know if they have changed since but I was massively disappointed, especially as they are advertised as being so comfortable.

cocopops · 19/01/2022 14:33

I bought a pair for the first time last year and they are so comfy I honestly won’t buy anything else from now on. They are pricey- you can get £10 off your first order by signing up to their website. Go for it- you won’t regret…….

That's interesting and would be hugely disappointing! I had that experience with Vejas.

I have platform ones snd ordinary ones. The platforms are a bit less comfortable, but not too bad. The ordinary soled ones are super comfy.

Shinyandnew2022 · 19/01/2022 18:58

Thanks @Lucia574 that's interesting about the platforms- maybe that's a thing then as my whistles ones are platform!

Maybe I need two pairs !

I have those exact ones OP (as well as a regular Cru pair) They are comfy but as someone said platform/flatform styles are never as comfortable as regular soles - I think it’s because the soles are more rigid and don’t naturally flex and bend as much as a regular soles pair would.

I also find they slip off the back of my ankle slightly (but again I think that’s more to do with soles as I get that same issue with some flatform loafers I have!) That said I love them, they look great but I probably wouldn’t wear them if I had to walk all day in them - I would wear my flatter Cru ones instead

Shinyandnew2022 · 20/01/2022 09:49

Thanks @MooMinCow it's very useful to know that about the platform and how many people end up buying multiple pairs ( not really in my budget !) I may order both styles and see if I think I can get used to the non platform style ..

I got my Crus on EBay for about £50 so always worth keeping an eye out there?

MattDillonsEyebrows · 20/01/2022 11:01

I think mine are similar to these, but in different colours, I don't think they are platforms. I can't imagine platforms being comfy enough to wear all day, but would be willing to try from A & G given how comfy my other trainers are.
I do love these ones though.

I have some. They are beyond comfortable. Bit sad but I clean them with a make up or dettol wipe from time to time to try and keep them nice.

Best shoes I've ever bought and worth the ££!!

Shinyandnew2022 · 20/01/2022 16:38

Thank you I just need pay day to hurry up now !

My Air & Grace trainers ripped my feet to pieces the first few times I wore them, but once I’d broken them in they became super comfortable (had been liaising with their customer services about the possibility they were faulty as they made my feet bleed!). So you might need to persist if not comfortable from day one!

Purpleavocado · 20/01/2022 21:46

Same as MassDebate, they need breaking in. Allbirds are much more comfy but they don't do platforms. The A&G jessa boots are great, though mine have started to squeek.

I have feet which blister horrifically with most shoes and air and grace are pretty much the first shoe I have bought that didn't. So I do wonder if yours were faulty.

I couldn't wear Vejas or even Reeboks as they blistered me.

roxisolerenshaw · 21/01/2022 20:52

I ordered a pair of air and grace trainers after reading so many positive reviews but I wasn't impressed at all and sent them back.

Shinyandnew2022 · 29/01/2022 18:53

Just come back to update as I ordered them and have just tried them on.
Sadly I think I am sending them back. As PP said I was underwhelmed really. The leather is beautifully soft but they don't feel immediately comfortable and look quite ordinary so I don't think it's wise to keep them.
Wonder whether to try the Cru non platform style or whether this is another brand (like Veja) that just isn't for me.

Mine are the normal cru. Not sure I'd repeat buy them, the are comfortable now bit not amazingly so.
