I use my fingers.

Another vote for finger tips. More control and quicker.

I prefer brush, seems to get better coverage for me. Sponge seems to smear it about and leaves it patchy.

CherryCoco · 18/01/2022 23:31

Brush

morrisy · 18/01/2022 23:32

I use a damp sponge

LBear04 · 18/01/2022 23:33

I use a brush to quickly get it in my face but I blend with a damp sponge - better texture, coverage etc.

If I'm in a rush I just use a damp sponge and have done for years xx

After trying brushes and sponge blenders I still find my fingers work best. Maybe because they're warm

Girlintheframe · 19/01/2022 09:54

I use my fingers generally but brush better coverage imo

AlbertBridge · 19/01/2022 10:01

I used to always just use my fingers until someone on TikTok described how to use a damp sponge. You "bounce" it on your face. I love it! Really really smooth, light coverage.

Nowadays on TikTok they're all using brushes though.

Fingers.

Easiest to clean, most control, don't have to rummage for a brush, warm foundation a bit so easier to work with, no waste of product.

SummaLuvin · 19/01/2022 10:30

Brush - either a stippling brush or a dense buffing brush, rather than a traditional flat brush.

But there isn't a right or wrong answer, it will vary based on the effect you want, foundation formula, quality of brushes/sponges, and your technique/skill. I never really got on with the damp beauty blender, but given how popular it is that's probably down to my ability or lack thereof more than anything.

I use my fingers to dab it on, then blend with my fingers, I have a, small RT brush that's pointed and flat which I use around my eyes and nose and any bits that need extra care. I've tried sponges, I just don't get along with them, they soak up too much foundation, and I find them a bit dirty, even though I know they are no worse than brushes (but I do clean mine after each use with a alcohol wipe) I just hate washing sponges then leaving them to dry, so tedious. Brushes dry quicker ime.

I use my fingertips first to warm the product onto my skin, then buff with a foundation brush.

autumnapplepicking · 21/01/2022 08:35

I usually use a brush, but in Summer I use a damp sponge as it gives me a lighter coverage.

Damp sponge and dab it on. Fingers for around the eyes to blend
