Camera bag - big bum and sore hands?

Just ordered a camera type bag after years of an old Radley flat cross body. I notice that someone has already said that boxy bags make their bum look big, which I think will apply to me. Also do you get used to the zip? I’ve got a feeling it will be irritating and if I use it a lot will grate my hands. Would I be better going for something without a zip or a better quality camera bag with better quality zip?

I'm not sure how a bag can make your bum look big? Surely cross body bags are worn towards the front of the body anyway?

Regarding your hands, I tend to avoid zip closures as suffer with very dry hands in the colder months & opt for magnetic studs or post-lock closures (I think that's what they're called).

Thanks that was what I thought but the packaging around the strap means that I can’t try it on. You are right about the closing mechanism, hadn’t given it any thought but the few zip up bags I do have are branded and much better quality. The zip on this new one looks like Jaws, I think it’s going back….
