Does anyone else really dislike their hairline?

I haven't heard many women moan about this so I'm worried I'm going to start a new self-hate here, but does anyone else think they've got an awful hairline?

I've got an asymmetric widow's peak, and the rest of it is weird too. Its a kind of rounded square which makes my normal shaped head/face look odd.

You can't really tell when my hair is down but when it's up I look awful. So I never wear it up.

I feel I'm missing out on the pleasure of a good up do! Anyone else? Or is there an up do which will look fine with a dodgy hairline?

I also need this magic do to hide my lack of chins / too many chins, I'm not sure which it is.

I’ve always hated mine, it’s very high and goes back quite far at each temple. It’s not hair loss, I’ve got loads of hair, it’s just always been like this.

Sorry not really an answer to your question. But when you wear it up, could you wear it loose with a parting. Or have some face framing pieces (picture)

That might be worth a try jingle, though I don't look identical to her so it might not suit me quite as much!

Yeah I hate mine! Widows peak and weird baby hair all around.

I have a fringe so even when my hair is up, my hairline is covered. I like it.

MopaniTree · 17/01/2022 23:37

I feel your pain, I have a widows peak and instead of a forehead I have a five head. I've even looked at a hair transplant just for my hairline but don't think I've got the nerve for it!!!

Hairyfriend · 17/01/2022 23:42

I have a widows peak and a 'cow lick' at the front, so have never been able to have a straight down fringe. Hair is also very thick and wavy which I dont mind, but never had a successful fringe.

An Indian friend at uni hated her hairline, because it was almost touching her eyebrows and very low. Whereas, our other friend from South African had such a high hairline, that it made her forehead look really large in comparison. I guess no one is completely happy.

mdinbc · 17/01/2022 23:43

Never been really happy with mine. I have a tiny forehead, and lots of little baby hairs, so I've always worn a fringe. I think if I wore it back i would have to wax.

Fumnudge · 17/01/2022 23:47

I love my widow's peak but I'd def be up for some 'lack of chin/horrid sloping neck' styles Sad

honeylou42 · 18/01/2022 15:38

Hate mine too, also have a cows lick. Would love a fringe but my hair just pings apart 😢

loloballlolo · 18/01/2022 15:52

fringe is your answer, I have a cow lick and slight curl, so you have to find your way around styling as follows:

  1. wash less frequently seems to help it be less kinky - using dry shampoo in between washes
  2. use a hairdryer as soon as you are out of the shower, constantly brushing in different directions while drying to avoid kinks
  3. change shampoo often

Yeah hate mine, looks like it’s receding at the temples but I’ve checked old photos and it’s always been like this. Curtain bangs have helped me cover the bits I don’t like near the temples.

Cstring · 18/01/2022 19:02

Yes I have a really high forehead, I’ve just started to be really conscious of it. I looked at hair transplants too but I’m far too squeamish (and skint).
I really hate having a fringe so I don’t, so it’s just tough really.

LiveFromNewYork · 18/01/2022 19:31

I don't like my hairline at the back of my head, it's super low so a short haircut looks a bit weird. Only realised this fully when I had a short haircut

Goldandguns · 18/01/2022 19:39

I can't stand my hairline - I have a tiny forehead, a tonne of baby hair and the baby hairs on the 'sides' are permanently stuck like how people often slick it down in a semi circle shape. I love fringes but haven't found the energy to maintain it since covid hit, so I've been keeping a centre part and two strands of hair down if my hair is up. I've even managed to convince myself it makes my forehead look a tiny bit bigger Smile

Lifeisnteasy · 18/01/2022 19:53

I have a threehead Grin and a strange hairline, it has a small weird gap at the front (opposite problem to widows peak) and those slightly receded bits at the side. I do wear my hair up but it never looks perfect.
