Boots rubbing my heel. Solutions?

AnaViaSalamanca · 17/01/2022 13:07

I have small narrow heels. The boots I have recently bought appear to be the right size, but my heel keeps moving up and down in them causing pain. I have tried half size smaller but it’s too tight. Larger feel way too big.

What should I do? The boots are suede.

Vasaline on the inside makes them more flexible and help stretch the smaller pair

@Theunamedcat inside of the shoe? Wouldn’t it go everywhere?

I don't know how easy these are to find in the UK (the UK Spartoo site doesn't seem to carry them) but they solved this issue with boots of mine.

Look for heel grips or shoe pads (lots available on Amazon) to stick inside them.

In general, wearing two pairs of socks or tights + socks helps with any shoes/boots that rub as the socks will then rub against each other and not against your foot.

Talcum powder

Cushioned plasters?

My sister swears by what she calls foot condoms. Available on amazon and the like I think.

Yes they are gel heel sleeves (or something very similar). I have used them before, they protect your heel completely, the only downside being they take up a lot more room in your shoe/boot than you expect. Also you would need to wear one on each foot, otherwise you would walk unevenly.

You can get gel inserts that stick into the inside heel part of the shoe to cushion the heel. A cushioned insole might also help.

Compeed also make an Anti Blister Stick which you rub onto the feet, it helps to prevent the friction that causes blisters.
