What are your favourite Diptyque products?

I want to treat myself to something and don't know what. What do you like? The candles, perfumes or something else? Babies and Feu de Bois seem very popular, do you like them? If not what is your favourite?

You again?

@Teadrinker11 Just seen this as I was having a Googly MN search re Diptyque and, as the only other response you got seemed a bit rude, thought I'd reply.

I am a recent convert largely due to the price, but bought Feu De Bois at Christmas. I would best describe it as kind of (bear with me) an almost masculine woody scent, and it is absolutely gorgeous! I sniffed Oud in a shop and liked it, and bought some Ambre flute candles along with a Baies one at Christmas too. Baies is lovely, whereas I liked Ambre but DH thought it 'smelt a bit like powdery old lady', make of that what you will!

If you get direct from Diptyque they seem to throw in samples, and the two tiny perfume samples they included are GORGEOUS and, just as important, last and you don't need much. (My mother sprays things like Lush Karma all over and I hate it, overpowering even if you did like the scent - these have an effect but you need a tiny amount which I suppose it should do due to the price!)

Hope that helps.

Definitely the candles. The satin oil is very good if you really want a beauty item but most brands do one thing very well. With Diptyque it’s the candles.

Feu de bois, Figuere, Opoponax are my favourites (not sure of my spellings there) and Roses is lovely if you prefer florals. Enjoy!

I don't like Baies AT ALL. Very disappointed. I have a mimosa one. There's a thread somewhere about lots of the candles but I can't find it again. The lychee one sounds amazing

Tiramysu · 02/02/2022 20:16

Like @JemimaPyjamas says buy direct from them as the samples are really generous.

sansucre · 02/02/2022 20:24

Their tuberose candle is a firm favourite, and also some of the limited edition ones (which I won't name as they're not currently in production and won't be repeated, sadly.)

I also love Fleur de Peau body cream and layer it with their perfume Orpheon.

They do little ceramic compacts filled with scented wax/balm - not sure how to describe it, but they're amazing and really quite reasonably priced for Diptyque. You can get refills too. I like the Eau Capitale and the 34 BVD St Germain scents. Put some on your temples and wrists and behind your ears. Very long lasting, and the compact is beautiful and tactile

Lookingoutside · 02/02/2022 21:33

@faustina

They sound amazing. Thanks for the tip.

JemimaPyjamas · 03/02/2022 09:49

@faustina They sound good for travel, no? I am never sure with 'solid perfumes' if they'd be a waste of time or not but I love the samples (liquid) I got but can't really justify buying some. As the solid ones are less that'd be tempting if they work well.

faustina · 03/02/2022 10:38

It's the only solid perfume I've ever tried so I have nothing to compare it with, but the scent lasts an impressively long time and yes, it's perfect for travel. I always keep one in my handbag and find it really really useful - nothing nicer than putting a little bit on my temples when things get stressed

ArabeI · 03/02/2022 11:03

Also love the scent of the tubereuse/tuberose candles. I was pondering trying their solid perfume (if only for the lovely swan case) and am more tempted to after reading here.

faustina · 03/02/2022 17:32

Oh the swan case is lovely isn't it? Mine are both just black - they didn't used to do refills, you had to buy the whole thing - luckily I saved the first one when it was finished, and now I use the refills
