Am I going to regret buying Fairfax & Favor boots?

I’ve been lusting after leather heeled Regina’s. I’ve read the horror stories about how badly they fit. How you have to warm the leather, put plastic bags on your feet and try and pull the boots on with your legs in the air to get them on. And then wear them in gradually until they actually fit. Sounds ridiculous.

They’re so lovely though. Would I be mad to spend all that money on boots that might be a really bad fit or is this standard for fitted leather boots these days? The last boots I bought new were my old Dubarry’s, although obviously they’re not fitted but they fit like a glove.

I have suede heeled reginas- love them. They’re snug but I don’t have to do any of the plastic bag carry on. Measure your calves and order wide fit if necessary. I’ve had mine 10 years and they still look as good as the day I bought them

Ooh that’s encouraging, thanks. I’d go for the wider calf just in case. I’d rather have them a bit loose than painful! And is it best to size up if you’re a bit wide in the foot too?

I just bought my normal size, and after a life in trainers and dubarrys and having my feet squashed by horses, mine are quite “splatty”ie wide across the way, but not in depth if that makes sense? I’ve taken a wild notion for a navy pair…..

Navy F&F boots that is - not feet Grin

First few wears you need help getting them off, but aside from that they're a good fit.

I did wonder. Grin

Navy are lovely, they’ll go with anything.

I have a pair of suede reginas and they are the most comfy pair of boots I have ever owned, I only purchased them about 6 weeks again and I'm already thinking of investing in a second pair!

I wear them with everything.

I didn't have an issue with fit or needing plastic bags etc, I have tried the leather and didn't find them any tighter I just preferred the suede.

They do three different calf widths so I agree with pp, measure your calf before you order.

The black leather are in the sale at the moment, they are sold out but returns appear throughout the day so it is worth checking regularly.

Honestly, I adore F&F boots but I read some of the things people do make them fit and think 'WTF'? Grin Maybe I'm just lucky but have never had to do any of that. If they don't feel right first time I just send them back and exchange, life is too short! The returns process is great. I've just returned a pair of black heeled leather Reginas (5) actually, as I just didn't really love them (the mahogany ones are gorgeous though, I wear them a lot).

I don't know if you already have a referral link, but if not here is mine

I have several pairs of F&F boots, various styles and they all fit so well. Beautifully made, super comfortable. The measurements on the website are accurate, and they do stretch / soften with wear. Enjoy them!!
