Five outfits only

I’m seriously considering donating the vast majority of my clothes and trying to do a year with five outfits I love on rotation, rather than having far too much stuff and yet feeling I’ve nothing to wear. (I say five- that wouldn’t include work wear, or a ‘party outfit’)

So looking for inspiration- what would your five outfits be??

Are they 5 separate outfits to start with? Cos once you started mixing and matching you'd end up with lots more than 5. It's a great challenge - although you might want a separate 5 for warmer weather.

Love this...

Black denim and a patterned silk blouse, camel wool blazer

Wide leg side stripe trousers, blue or white casual shirt in a gorgeous fabric, denim jacket and white trainers

Black tailored wide leg trousers, high neck pussy bow blouse, black blazer, flat pointed shoes

Blue ankle grazer jeans, , navy blue t, cream jacket

Maxi skirt, boat neck t, denim jacket

@PaleGreenGhost five separate. And yes I was thinking I’d be open to them being seasonal, so I suppose not 5 in the full year, just 5 at any one time. I have a loft so 5 summer dresses can be stored out of my way until it’s time!

So far I’m thinking

  1. black dungarees, silver short sleeved thin jumper, silver trainers

  2. grey/black leopard print Hush denim mini, grey t, black leggings, black biker boots

  3. jumper dress, black leggings, biker boots

These are things that I love and wear regularly. I work in a very formal environment so will need to keep a couple suits etc in the cupboard.
