For my entire career I have worked in a uniform, however, I’m now moving to an office role. I have no idea what to wear whatsoever, I need to be smart but non threatening according to my new manger. He wears a shirt and trousers but no tie or jacket. Most of my role will be on teams and I’ve realised I look like a ghost on there so need to start wearing makeup. I’m not girly at all and have always liked wearing a uniform to work as I didn’t have to choose my clothes. Any hints or tip would be gratefully received. I’m nearly 40, 5”7, flat chested, massive hips and very muscular legs!!

Your body shape sounds like someone I used to work with, she used to wear wide legged trousers/collottes and tshirt style tops with a print mainly.

If mainly on Teams then you could get a few nice scarves or necklaces to wear with a plain top. It adds a bit of variety.

Fitted Polo necks are great for this time of year.
Can wear with wide legged tailored trousers. Sounds perfect for your shape and very in at the moment.

The great thing about polo necks is that all you need is to add some nice earrings and it all looks 'together' if you see what I mean. Especially if you're on teams a lot.

I'd buy them in black, white, grey and they'll go with lots. You can put various coloured blazers over the top to mix it up, I'd say a short tailored or boxy blazer if wearing wide legged tailored trousers.
Fitted white shirts are also very in at the moment so I'd invest in one of them. Zara have a lot of different styles and very reasonably priced.

Do you like your legs on show? Or prefer something looser? Just thinking that dresses are so handy for when you hate putting outfits together. Again you could buy some skater style dresses which fall loosely over your legs, if you put with tights and Chunky ankle boots and loose fit blazer you have a whole outfit there.
I've also seen some lovely knit dresses on Karen Millen with a fitted polo top and 'flippy' skirt part that I bet would suit you really well.

It's about finding some outfits that you feel confident in and then buying similar garments but in different colours and patterns to mix it up.
Instagram is great for hunting out people whose style/outfits you like.

As far as being a ghost - i can't recommend benefit Hula matt bronzer enough. Contour it round the edges of your face and I find it really lifts my face especially in these winter months.

Have a look on Pinterest for ideas, search something like work outfits, then try and replicate a few that you like.

I like wearing dresses for work as then it's a whole outfit in one.

I have a couple of really nice blouse / shirty type things from Monsoon that I tuck into black trousers.

They have a load in the sale at the moment.

This one is down to £14!
