What on Earth happened to modalu?

I remembered yesterday I had a rather nice green handbag I haven’t used for ages do I pulled it from the back of the cupboard and took it out it’s dust bag.

Ah I thought. Modalu. I forgot them; this is nice and it’s quite reasonable priced I remember, I wonder if they have a sale on (because obviously I’m short of bags what with forgetting I have them and all)

They have vanished! Some second hand on eBay… a Facebook page last active in 2020 that still links to bags for sake but are dead links… and nothing about the company except a news story from 2013 about sweat shops 🙈 which reminded me pippa Middleton used to carry modalu bags.

I thought one of you lovely lot would know what happened. I presume they’re out of business but it’s odd there appears to be no record of it?

I also have a couple of lovely Modalu bags and hadn't realised they no longer exist. I assume Covid did for them

The massive holding company that owned them and Fiorelli went bankrupt and the latest one that acquired the brands seems to have zero interest, as they're not listing it at all.

I think they were actually called the 'Pippa'. I had one for work and it was brilliant.

As that’s sad, it was such a good bag! Thank you.

What a shame. I have two Modalu bags that I alternate, they’re about 5 years old and only just starting to show signs of wear. I bought the bags and purses as gifts too. Their sales were really reasonable for leather bags.

I bought 3 when they were going under and they were crazy cheap (like £20 each) or something and the quality is really very good.

Bit of a shame really.

Ah I had two of these! One got so worn out I don’t have it any more, but I still have a lovely green one. What a shame, they were lovely bags. Another brand I miss is Tabitha, I had some lovely bags from there way back when!
