Converse high tops

I’ve just bought a black pleated silky midi skirt and am looking for footwear to go with it. I love chunky leather ankle boots with long skirt sort of style but don’t want to buy another pair of winter boots at this time of year so I’m wondering about a pair of converse high tops which would see me into spring/summer. BUT, I’m in my 50’s and can’t decide if I’m a bit too old for this sort of look?

Please be honest as I don’t want to look desperate 😅

I've got 11 pairs of converse hi tops, I wear them with everything basically. I've got goretex ones for the winter, leather ones, canvas ones, sequinned ones, you name it.

I'm in my 40s and not very fashionable (more hoodies and jeans than anything else really) but I think I 'get away' with the converse!

@MayThePawsBeWithYou - I find converse quite comfy and do have a few pairs of the low top version, I’m just not used to having hi tops which seem ‘younger’ to me. However, thanks for drawing my attention to that website - I feel another purchase coming on!

I'm 48 I have about 15 pairs of converse and wear them a lot.

They'll look great

I have two pairs of leather high tops in cream and in black. I wear them with my almost maxi pleated skirts and sweatshirts, midi dresses and joggers from Hush. I’m 52.
I am a Converse convert!

Converse are classic and ageless, go for it!

I don't think converse are associated with youngsters particularly.

Thanks @SunshineOnKeith - I just doubted myself when my 17 year older DD’s friend turned up in the same pair I’ve ordered. However I’m reassured by the replies on here.

I'm 57 and have American flag high top Converse. You will be fine truly . The only thing is you have to make sure you're comfy in them . I'm not always as they're very flat .

@RampantIvy - 😅 yes, I live right on the south coast so spring normally comes a bit earlier for us. I also can’t justify yet another pair of winter boots.

I've been wearing converse high tops since I got my first pair at 19, I'm 46 now and I don't ever intend to stop

I often wear mine with a dress/skirt and they look just as good as they do with a pair of (skinny) jeans. Go for it!

I’d classify Converse as classic & don’t really associate them with any particular age group.

I'm mid 40s and have five pairs of converse.
I think, if anything, they are associated more with people in their 40s than younger people.
