Shoes too big - what to do?

In an attempt to get shoes to fit my extra wide feet I bought online a pair of size 9 (I usually take a size 7) stout, sensible walking shoes.
When I tried them on the width fitted perfectly and I was so thrilled I left them on then I had to rush out of the house quickly and left them on.

When I got back I realised that these shoes are far too long. When my toes go to the front end, it leaves a gap behind my heel. Looks awful and feels awful.

I took them off and they have creased across the instep and obviously been worn so I cannot return them now :-)

However, they cost me £100 so don't want to give them to charity shop.

What can I do? Stuff something in the toe?

Sell them! You’ll make yourself miserable if you stuff something in the toe 🙈

Sorry, I’m not laughing at your misfortune and I understand your thinking behind wanting a wider fit, but of course shoes two sizes too big were going to be too big!

I honestly think I will struggle to sell them. How many women have size 9 feet?

They definitely look like women's shoes, by the way, not men;s.

Not just size 9 but they are a 6E wide fitting!
