Questions for seasoned Foreo Bear users

Okay, so I’ve done a couple of practice runs on my Foreo and have some questions, if anyone has a few minutes to answer please.

Firstly, how on earth do I turn it on manually? If I press the button on the Bear, it lights up but nothing else. Watching the You Tube video recommended on so many other threads, she uses the button when not using the app.

Secondly, my evening routine has gone to pot! My usual is this … double cleanse, Medik 8 Press & Glow, Crystal Retinol, moisturise, sometimes oil. And once a week, Sleep Gylcolic instead of P&G/Retinol.

So with the Bear, I’ve been double cleansing, using their Serum, Serum, Serum, washing it off and doing the other stuff but it seems mad to wash a good serum off! Can I use the Retinol etc after the serum or what order shall I do it? Daft question!

Oh, and finally, what routine and settings do you all use? I’ve got it on Basic Microcurrent Intensity and T Sonic started on 1 but upped it to 3 tonight. Shall I just increase gradually. Also is it best to go with the You Tube lady and do the app short treatments every night bar once a week when I do her advanced treatment?

Thanks in advance!

  1. You probably switched off the pulsations when switching it on (it happens easily when you're setting the intensity, you need to double click it in succession to turn on and off iirc it's a bit of a mare when you're trying to get it working again), so it's on but no vibrations. Or, also likely, you think it's not working because it doesn't start vibrating from the go when you switch it on the way it does in the app demo, it'll start vibrating when both balls make contact with your serumed up skin but not before that and will stop vibrating when there's no proper contact with skin.

  2. you don't wash off serum serum serum Confused if you buy a conducting gel that's usually worth taking off. I think press and glow is an acid toner, you can use that before serum serum serum provided there's no oil in the formulation. Just use the retinol over the serum, serum, serum, it's fine, just use a normal amount of serum, it just requires a bit of slip.

  3. I just started on level five and was fine 🤷 switched to pro setting (I think that's what it's called) in the app when that update became available but probably leave that alone for now. I did an extended routine nightly, bit of a mix of things I found on YouTube from a Brazilian woman and what I learned from the app, usually went through two cycles.

Ah sorry, rereading properly, I see you meant the t sonic level, I've always left that at one (but at pro level), didn't really see the point of upping the strength of that as that's more of an added massage thingy.

Actually I just checked, I do have it set to five on the sonic level on pro but I'd probably stick to basic for now and use whatever level you like, if it feels zappy it's probably too high a level.

Thanks for such a comprehensive reply @botemp. I’ll need to have a play with it to try to get it working without the app but it’s good to have a starting point! Thanks for the tips re routine … have missed my retinol a few nights and yes, madness to wash the serum off 🤣

I’ll work the settings up … it was a bit zappy on my jaw the first night but I have a feeling both balls weren’t in contact with my skin. Made me jump!

Thanks again.

Hi.. I re-registered here, just to post this reply :)..

Boutght Bear 2 from Lookfantastic. It arrived yesterday and to my great surprise I noticed warning, when registering app. Didn't do nough research before, so was not aware of this contrindication. I have 2 dental implants in upper jaw..so started to panic, that I will be electrocuted:D.

Upon research, I realised there are not much details online. I noticed your post, as well as one in redditt - both unanswered.
After checking everywhere and asking chatGPT I decided to try anyways.
I did not buy expensive serum, but went with Hyaluroanic acid serum I had.

So, it did not zap my implants.. I went over area with various strengths and did not feel anything unpleasant in that area.. which is good.

BUT - I had unpleasant senseations when I went over my front lower teeth (lower lip area).. and I was unable to do anything on my forhead..as it was like zapping me quitte noticeably..
My lower teeth are sensitive, therefore that might be reason..Not sure why forhead was zapping. Similar on my eyebrow bone - so anywhere, where there is less soft bits - as cheeks, jawline, neck - all were fine.

I ordered conductive ultrasound gel of Amazon and will try again..as Hyaluroanic acid seems drying a bit too fast, so you need to use rather large amount per session.

So that's my experience, if it helps anyone.
I might come back and post update, after I use conductive gel, and see if it helps my forhead from being zapped.
As I read somewhere opinion that it can zap, if there is not enough conductive material.
