Upper eyelid lift under GA?

Hi all, I have decided at last to take steps to have a blepharoplasty done despite my slight phobia, shall we say, of anyone touching my eyelids, lashes or cutting my skin!! I read that it’s nearly always done under local anaesthetic but that terrifies me, I would much rather be asleep.
Did you get it done one way or the other and what was your experience? Many thanks in advance.

yes under local. I was also terrified but they gave me a sedative in addition to the local, so I was totally relaxed and honestly barely noticed they were doing something. Way easier than I imagined.

I've had it done and it was so easy and hassle free. To be honest I'd be more nervous about getting a GA. I'd avoid GA at all costs if I could. I think I kept my eyes closed the whole time and didn't see what the surgeon was doing. I obviously didn't feel a thing either. I'm sure you could get some diazepam prescribed if you were super anxious about it but honestly it's completely fine.

Thanks both, that’s very reassuring!
