Massive spot on forehead... bridesmaid in 3 days... tips?

I often get cystic acne (but not on my forehead Angry !!) so I have salicylic acid, niacinamide (sp?) and those little patches you can put on overnight. What’s my best plan? Obviously lots of concealer on the day but trying to get it down first.

The quickest way to kill it would be to go to a pharmacy and get a tube of duac. It’s antiobiotic + benzoyl peroxide. Nothing else is as fast.

Clearasil do a 4 hr cream, DD uses it to clear her maskne, it works, I had a rare spot last week and it cleared totally in 2 applications.

Ice to reduce the swelling

LaBellina · 13/01/2022 12:08

Toothpaste

Coffeepot72 · 13/01/2022 13:08

I’m on the fence about popping it, this could either solve the problem or make things a whole lot worse …

SueGrayInvestigates · 13/01/2022 15:21

Grin to cut a fringe!

It’s not really got a head to pop at the moment.

Cystic acne rarely get a head to pop - squeezing them just makes them more inflamed. You’re better to try and reduce the swelling with ice, anti inflammatories, that kind of thing. Don’t suppose you could get any antibiotics between now and the wedding?

Fluffycloudland77 · 13/01/2022 16:17

I got antibiotics same day when I needed them.

Coffeepot72 · 13/01/2022 18:49

If there’s no head, then definitely do not try to pop. Concentrate on minimising the swelling and a good concealer. It’s only during lockdown/WFH that I realised patience is your best course of action when there’s no head.

OP, how's the spot? Did it go down in time? If so, how did you do it?

SueGrayInvestigates · 18/01/2022 15:56

It went down a fair bit but was still there sadly so I had to do a lot of concealing. Thanks for all the help though!

ElizabethinherGermanGarden · 18/01/2022 17:07

Glad it went down, even if it didn't disappear completely.

ElizabethinherGermanGarden · 18/01/2022 17:07

Hope you had a lovely day.

Drink a shit ton of water. Apply your salicylic acid.

Avoid sudocream
