Hey, Im having my eye brows done next week and Im terrified! (Not the pain bit If I will look natural). Anyone else? If you had it would you do it again?

I never notice when people have had them done so they must look pretty natural.

JenniferAlisonPhilippaSue · 12/01/2022 13:54

Not me but one of my best friends. Looked great at first but then soon went the same way as all tattoos. The lines smudge and some of the pigments fade faster than others so she now just has two terracotta colour stripes underneath but offset from her own brows. Sorry.

BlueEyes21 · 12/01/2022 15:38

I have my lips and eyebrows tattooed. I wouldn't be without either of them. This is my brows at their worst, not brushed and badly needing tinted as they're naturally so fair. My lips only have Vaseline on them. I first got them done 5 years ago but now just go for topups every 18-24 months.

minniep · 12/01/2022 15:44

My mum had hers done and they are amazing. It's definitely on my to do list. A lot depends on who is doing them. Like everything some people are much better than others

HermioneWeasley · 12/01/2022 19:57

Delighted with mine, but I personally knew people she’d done it for and I didn’t just go by photos (your artist could be using anyones work). They go very dark (and mine were rather swollen for a day after) but settle down and look entirely natural

Youbelongherenow · 12/01/2022 21:22

I had mine done for the first time just before the first lockdown. I will get them done again when they need it. For now there’s enough remaining that I can just go over with a brow pencil. But although I was so shocked and thought I looked like one of the Angry Birds at first, I soon got used to seeing myself with proper brows after a lifetime of overplucked lines. I had very little swelling/redness or scabbing after. Am very happy I got it done.

Hehx3 · 12/01/2022 21:23

Thank you all, it does feel like a big step as its kind of "permanent", but Im fed up with my eyebrows literally disappearing after make up removal. I use Dermatica and all my blemishes and freckles disappeared so can go without foundation- I thought if i get it done maybe I wont have to use anything except mascara 😬 @BlueEyes21 your lips are amazing!!!

I’m tempted to get my lips done as it would make life so much easier. I don’t think it ever looks natural though when I’ve seen it in real life (or in @BlueEyes21 case, sorry!) it always looks massively over lined and wonky. But then loads of women must have it done and it not be obvious too.

Thatsplentyjack · 12/01/2022 21:33

I've been thinking about it for a while too but I'm just not sure. It's so permanent. Ironic really as I have quite a lot of shite tattoos, but they're not on my face.

Mrstwiddle · 13/01/2022 00:13

Just be aware that unless you plan on having them regularly redone they fade to a rather unattractive orangey shade.

I had mine done 8 years ago by a top London beautician, they looked ok for a few years but then faded and I spend just as much time covering up the faded dye as I did the gaps previously.

Mrstwiddle · 13/01/2022 00:14

So no, would definitely not do it again.

Porridgeislife · 13/01/2022 05:36

I love mine but I’m very fair and blonde.

You have to commit to a top up every 12-18 months though, it’s not “permanent” in that sense. It makes getting ready so easy that it’s a small price to pay.

Porridgeislife · 13/01/2022 05:41

If you use acid/retinoids you’ll need to be hyper vigilant to avoid get it anywhere near your eyebrows, as it will fade them very quickly.

I had mine done 6months ago and love them. The miss trunchbull phase for a couple of days is a rad embarrassing but you notice but others wouldn’t. Mine are stunning, really frame my face and make it look good with no makeup which is good as I never really wear it as I’m too lazy. I’m going to do mine every few years for rest of my life!

YourenutsmiLord · 13/01/2022 06:23

Teens round here have wide un plucked eyebrows. Won't it date?

musicalfrog · 13/01/2022 06:26

I wouldn't be doing anything permanent. I don't think it ever looks natural sorry. And as above, fashions change.

Hehx3 · 18/01/2022 21:05

So for anyone interested in future I got them done! Aaaaaaand its looking promising. I did not have them numbed so it hurts but manageable (results apparently are better). Velcro sound when they do it is very creepy so I recommend a headphones. They are all red so cant say much about effect but will update on that in a week/2weeks or so. X
