Hi Guys, Im thinking of mixing it up with my hair style and go blonde.

Do you think i should go full blonde or just highlights?

I would imagine going full blonde would be quite high maintenance if you don’t want the roots to give the game away.

Go with highlights first then you can build it up if you like it.

Definitely do highlights and go to a salon. Get maybe a half head to start off with.

I'm no hairdresser and haven't gone blonde but I would check this is possible with your colourist first if this is your plan. If you have bleached highlights, these bits of hair would surely not be able to take multiple more bleaching sessions and become really over processed and damaged if your whole head was bleached for a full blonde look?

I'm brunette and have gone gradually blonde with highlights. I think that's the best way unless you have lots of time and money for upkeep. I would have been scared to go full blonde immediately in case i didn't like it.

@SummaLuvin I didn't say to bleach the whole head.
I said go with highlights and then you can build it up to see whether you will like it, hence with more highlights.
Also whenever you have highlights you wait for a time before getting them re-done, hence not over processing your hair.

Highlights aren't as damaging for your hair as a full on bleach, and look so much nicer.

I have had both, I always have highlights now, much kinder to my hair and they look better than bleaching the whole head in my opinion.

Definitely go to a salon. I would start with a half head of highlights. Enjoy your blonde!

I have a full head of foils with a root smudge. I'm naturally very dark brunette and the blonde is very light. I can about 10 weeks between colour now. When it was a darker blonde I could easily go 14 weeks.
