Classic evening dress/bridesmaid dress

I’m after some help..I’m getting married and my best friend is going to be a bridesmaid shes mid 40’s a size 14/16ish, about 5ft 5 ample bust so I think I’m after a classic evening dress in black to match the groomsmen. The reason I’m asking is that she doesn’t really wear dresses apart from weddings christenings etc so I/she doesn’t know what suits. Can anyone give me some ideas

Ooh I like the style but I think the back cut out might rule out the sucky in corset style bodysuit that she has already. I helped her but a gorgeous dress years ago, strapless, fishtail in a heavy satin that made the most of her hourglass figure but that was at least 15 years ago and I think she might be more comfortable with a bit more coverage on top

I love the idea of velvet as well, the groom will be wearing a velvet tux (Xmas wedding)

Budget £250 it’s worth it for my best friend to feel beautiful. I’ll compromise on other things.
