I’m having my teeth professionally whitened this week

Over the last 10 years I’ve gone from utter certainty I don’t need this and a bit of an eye roll at the trend to becoming more conscious of my teeth and now I think they are the thing that age me the most. I can probably blame Zoom calls, UHD TV and social media.

When I was researching this I found a few mumsnet threads of various ages but actually not as many as I thought. So if people are interested and would find it helpful I can do a kind of diary of how I get on and answer any question you have.

Ok, update and photos.
I’ve been doing the three days of day whitening. Well actually I have done 2.5 as my gums are a touch sore from the bleach. I’ll do the last one tonight. Day trays have been harder than the in chair process, they are quite sensitive for the first 5 minutes and I can’t find a way to avoid getting it on my gums a tiny bit. By all accounts this common and the advice is to take a break. It’s not so bad that I won’t use them for top ups later on though!
I can’t recreate the lighting conditions of my before photo so that aside hopefully you can see the change.
For me it has been well worth the money

I'm midway through the Enlighten 300 whitening treatment, 2 weeks with trays at home, week 1 10% gel, week 2 16% and then I have an hour in the dentist on Friday!
They are transformed already tbh!
Just sat drinking my morning black coffee with a straw and I've missed red wine but I think it will be worth it!

MrsP I don't think the whitening will work on the filling - my dentist said mine might need redoing. Not too noticeable atm.

Thanks for the feedback @leotardrock and @Thinkle. Your teeth are looking great @Thinkle, glad you're pleased with the outcome.

Is there anyway of accessing these gels similar to how retinol can be prescribed through companies like Dermatica?

If I go to a dentists and ask to buy gel, will they require proof of having had the previous treatments?!

Local dentist offers Zoom at 395 but I'm tight!
