1920's dress for murder mystery evening

Hi all, I'm going to a murder mystery evening with a group of friends. The theme is 1920's evening wear, there's a dinner where the actors entertain around tables and give clues, should be fun. I'm looking for a flapper style dress with fringing but not a fancy dress outfit , have seen a few that look quite tacky. Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated , can spend up to £120, thank you Smile

I would avoid the fringed type...they almost always look tacky unless you spend big. Buy a little black dress, plain and that suits you and team it with the right accesories.

You could also choose a coloured dress if you'd rather...cream or white works well if it's a 20s cut.

Get a decent headpiece like these on Etsy...and you'll look amazing in high heels etc.

Agree that a plain shift dress with accessories would work.
However, Roman do have fringed ‘flapper’ dresses which are £65 and might look fine. Several on the site including a black one www.roman.co.uk/sequin-fringe-hem-flapper-dress-14187508

Those Etsy accessories are lovely!

Thank you ! This is the problem I've been having with fringing looking tacky ! Etsy accessories are fab, didn't think to look there. At least I have a starting point with LBD now , thank you !

I had an event like this and Monsoon had loads of 1920s look dresses.

Just make sure the Etsy seller is from the UK....some aren't and you'll need to check.

I'd wear a current outfit and say you misread 1920 for 2020, and save yourself £120. Grin

Maybe this is why I don't get invited out Hmm
