I can't sleep on my silk pillowcase :(

I bought two a couple of months ago, as I wake up with horrible crinkles on my face and messy hair.
It made a big difference to said crinkles and hair BUT I just don't find it comfy to sleep on.
I thought it was maybe my old flat pillows that were the problem, so I've bought some new lovely plump ones. No change. It's like I feel my face is going to slide off it, if that makes sense? Two nights ago I swapped back to my usual cotton pillow cases and I'm so much more comfortable.

I'm so disappointed! Is there anything else that night help with the night time face crinkle issue? The hair thing isn't such a big deal.

Get out a sewing machine and take the pillow cases in slightly so they fit a little less loosely and don't wrinkle up. Or buy slightly larger pillows - I use Dunlopillow foam pillows which fill my pillow cases pretty well and are very comfortable, but they are eye-wateringly expensive so......

Grow a beard and then the stubble will help your face stick to the silk better?

Or get the 300 plus thread count pillowcases. They are lovely and soft and not slippery.

That's a shame. We only use silk pillowcases (John Lewis) cos we find them so comfortable. Can you buy a down pillow...that's what we use with them. You just "melt" in to the pillow. So comfy.

I felt the same and abandoned them for a while. Cotton pillowcases are so lovely, cool and fresh.

Recently though I've been making a determined effort to improve my extremely curly hair and have got very used to my silk pillowcases. My pillow is firm which maybe helps.

I know you said the hair thing isn't a big deal but it's the only part I can advise on 🙃

A silk bonnet is your answer

FindingMeno · 09/01/2022 16:39

I agree. I soon abandoned mine for microfibre ones.

I have silk pillows as well, they are massive so you can't slip off them. Been using them for years. Wouldn't use anything else.

Drink more water. That’s what usually cases my face wrinkles - mild dehydration 😂

Herestoyoucolinrobinson · 09/01/2022 17:45

I was also going to say silk bonnet for the hair but no idea for the face 😂
