Dry, combination, greasy? How to tell?

I've no idea what my skin type is. I'm 61 and after years of my skin being what I'd describe as normal I literally don't know what it is or what products to use

My T zone is really oily over the last few years) as well as looking congested. Every moisturiser/foundation seems to make it oilier no matter how much it claims it won't .

I'm using simple miscellar wash and Garnier miscellar water to clean and cerave facial moisturiser. The simple makes my face feel dry and taut after ( though it says on label it prevents that). Each morning my t zone feels thick with oil. I have very sensitive skin too so haven't got on with retinol. How can I find out what skin type I've now got?

If you go to a Clinique counter they do a questionnaire with you. You have mature skin with a oily t zone. You can't treat your whole face, you'll have to use different products on your t zone.

You’ve got combination skin by the sound of it

Dry a lotion rather than a wash, if the rest of your skin is dry a wash may be too harsh.

Try a lotion! As in a cleansing lotion.

Lured. Thanks. I feel the wash is too harsh despite it being Simple and saying it doesn't make skin feel tight.

ponoka. I can't use clinique . I've been allergic to every product of theirs I've tried. If they recommend products I won't dare try them
