Lash lift and tint. Worth it?

I loved having lash extensions but I don't like the up keep or not being able to wipe my eyes after a shower for fear of knocking them out etc
It's £45 for a lash lift and tint, I have black lashes already but they look a bit faded at the end . How long does it last and is it worth it?

I have only had lash lift once and it didn’t last and seemed to damage the lashes on one eye for quite a few weeks. The immediate result was lovely but then I noticed one eye’s lashes not curling in the same direction.

I also found it difficult to apply liquid eyeliner with the lashes lifted and curled.

I went back to just getting eyebrows threaded and brows and lashes tinted x

@Beachgirl33 doesn't sound good , think I'll give it a miss

I’ve had it done a couple of times at different places.

For me, I think they look great weeks 1 to 2 and good weeks 3 to 4. The first time was a more dramatic change but there was a slight difference in the curl on each eye - I think perhaps the side I sleep on, my eye presses into the pillow and straightened out the lashes a bit. Second time was even but not as dramatic a change overall - lashes not as dark black and not as much of a curl as the first time.

Overall, I think it’s worth doing for a special occasion like a holiday but I don’t think it’s worth the money to get done all the time.

RunningFromInsanity · 10/01/2022 21:14

Lash lift is ok but a lash tint definitely makes a difference imo.

Amelion · 10/01/2022 21:20

I’ll go against the grain and say I love it! I have long lashes but they’re very straight so when I’ve had a lift and tint they look like amazing (friends have asked if I’ve got false lashes done!) For me they last maybe 4-6 weeks and grow out gradually. There’s not the need to get them done every time - when I had false lashes they start to look crap after a couple of weeks, patchy and so on, so I’ve had to go back to get them infilled/removed and it’s all a bit of a commitment.

With a tint and lift I don’t have that problem and can wait til I next want to do it.

KatharinaRosalie · 10/01/2022 21:23

I love it too, I have naturally fair and straight lashes, so it makes a massive difference. Well not as massive as false ones, but the latter ones definitely damaged my own lashes a lot more.

Bavarois · 10/01/2022 21:27

Definitely worth it for me, I have long but straight lashes that are brown with blonde tips. A lash lift and tint makes a massive difference to my face. I especially notice the difference with my bottom lashes as I don't like to wear mascara on them. It looks great for about 4 weeks and has faded by about 6/7 weeks.

SilverHairedCat · 10/01/2022 21:30

I've had false lashes added once - hated it, it lasted 2 days before they started to come off and were all gone within a week. I felt like I looked like a Disney character and felt really silly.

I've also had a lift and tint once - no silly feelings, it looked great for a month. However, I have very dry eyes and found my eyes were really crusted every morning until it properly wore off. I don't think it was an allergy, I had the patch tests etc, but it was like my lashes tilted back a bit was lifting the eyelid a crack so they were getting dry overnight? NO idea if it's a thing, but it's put me off having the lift again. I'd do the tint again.

beeboop2018 · 10/01/2022 21:31

I love it. Maybe it depends on the skill of who does them how good they look. Mine lasted 5 or 6 weeks and I got lots of compliments. This has made me think must book on get them done again.

marsdon · 10/01/2022 21:35

I have it done all the time and I love my lash lifts it really does open your eyes up I didn't get on with false lashes at all

As with everything it maintaining the lift which is easy to do I get some clear mascara gel that they sell in Superdrug for around £2 that you can use on brows and I put that on everyday in the morning as part of my daily routine not only does it keep them lifted but it makes your lashes grow too so you get super long lashes
When I'm going on a night out I put some normal black mascara on I use Roller Lash by Benefit and my lashes look just as good as false ones with the mascara on I would definitely recommend having it done but I think it's something you do have to keep up mine are every 6/ 8wks like having your nails done as your lashes do get better and the lift last longer .

Stiffcondomhat · 10/01/2022 21:41

Interesting, I'm having mine done next week. Cba with the faff of extensions so this might be a winner. My lashes are so short and stumpy.

EbonanzaScrooge · 10/01/2022 21:46

I have my lashes done regularly and absolutely love it. Lasts normally around 5/6 weeks for me. I don’t need mascara when mine are fresh and they really open my eyes.

MaternityNurse007 · 10/01/2022 21:52

Interesting, how much the tint and lift cost usually do you guys do it monthly?

marsdon · 10/01/2022 23:56

I usually go 6wks but have gone 8wks

I did use to pay £25 but I did go to my friends home to have it done but I've now moved home over a hour away and I now have a lady thats mobile that comes to me and it's £35 for lash lift and tint
Prices do vary I've seen the Lash Lift and Tint for £45 in a some Beauty Salons

northernbutterfly · 11/01/2022 06:42

Definitely worth it for me. Never had a problem with it and makes an enormous difference to my face

fedup078 · 11/01/2022 09:51

I guess I could try it the once and see how it goes
Thanks for all the replies

I had my first the second week of December. I love it and it's still going strong.

I'm a low maintenance kind of person who doesn't usually wear mascara though, so it's made quite a difference to me. I'm not sure what's to be gained if you would normally curl your lashes and use mascara anyway. It doesn't give anything like as strong an impact as false lashes.

I only paid £25!

fedup078 · 11/01/2022 10:00

Oh hahaha I just checked the pricing again and it's actually £30

Worth it for me. I hate extensions as they look fake (generally). lvl lash lift looks more natural.

Boood · 11/01/2022 11:00

I’ve had mine tinted a few times, so I didn’t have to mess around with waterproof mascara on holiday. It looked good, but it stung like crazy each time and I couldn’t help feeling it was a hell of a risk to take with my eyesight just to save a bit of faff on makeup. So I stopped.

fedup078 · 11/01/2022 11:09

@Boood yes this has crossed my mind too

The ability of the beautician makes a big difference. I always got tint in my eye with the last girl, and when I tried a lash lift with her it was quite painful. Like my upper eyelid was being folded back and sellotaped. But I moved, and the new salon do a much better painless job. If it's painful, don't go back.

Okbutnotgreat · 12/01/2022 14:47

Just wanted to say that I did this for xmas and really like it but my local salon charges a whopping £65 for a lift and tint which means it will remain an occasional treat.
