Posh slippers

This obviously shouldn’t really be in S&B as I don’t require my slippers to be stylish or beautiful but having ordered and returned two pairs to Celtic and Co I need some advice on hardwearing, cosy and relatively nice looking slippers. I like a boot style, a decent sole and super warm and cosy. Budget up to £100 since I spend my life in them working from home. Thanks!

Oh. I was coming on to recommend Celtic and Co house boots. I've lived in mine for 5 years and still going strong.

Not boots but mine are from woollovers they deffo are not stylish or beautiful but they are warm and supportive

I was given these recently (they are slippers not outdoor boots) and so far very impressed. Better than the ones I had before which were £80. Not sure how they will last but they are good for the price, a good snug fit and very warm!

I have been browsing at M&S and found this: www.marksandspencer.com/suede-faux-fur-lining-slipper-boots/p/clp60486046?intid=mobile_app_pdp_share

I also WFH and use Glerups wool slippers with a leather sole, they are super-warm and really comfortable, and I feel cosy but sophisticated wearing them. Mine have a leather sole (very durable), but they also do them with rubber soles. I have the “shoe” style, but they also do a boot style, see here: www.mylittlewish.com/collections/glerups-boots

This is the shoe style: www.mylittlewish.com/collections/glerups-shoes

I’m on my second pair, the first pair lasted several years!

I had a pair of glerups but with the leather sole and they were way too slippery on wooden floor and tiles unfortunately so have to get rid of them. Interesting to see they now do rubber soles

I live in my mahabis. They are ridiculously expensive for slippers (start from £80) but very comfortable and hard-wearing. They have a thin trainer style sole so can be worn outside, then memory foam so it moulds to your feet. Upper part is felt and lambswool, so very warm and snug (verging into too warm in summer, is my one complaint).

I used to suffer from plantar fascitis from wearing cheap unsupportive slippers on our hard tiled floors all day. I haven't had a problem since swapping to mahabis 18months ago.

ArtichokeAardvark · 09/01/2022 07:23

Sorry - just re-read first post and seen you like boot-style slippers. Ignore me, mahabis won't be your cup of tea Smile

Another vote for Glerups, they really are the gold standard imo. Received some as a Christmas gift four years ago and they're still going strong! I used to have Mahabis but found the thin sole detached and was a trip hazard.

I also don't find my leather-soled Glerups to be slippery on my wooden floors but might be worth looking at the other type of some if that's a concern.

Niche brand I stumbled upon by accident is Snow Paw. I now have gloves and slippers by them

Ah thank you all! I’m going to give Glerups a go 🙂
