I want to look smart but fashionable at work. Definitely not a trouser suit person and I need flats as I cover a lot of ground! Office environment and client facing.

I'm early 40s. 14-16. Clueless Grin

I brainfarted, my loafers are &OtherStories. Including for inspiration, you don't have to spend as much. I would actually say that a John Lewis personal styling session would be a good call - you can tell them what you're looking for and they can help you find some key "pieces" you can use to update you.

Thank you. I think JL may be the way to go.

Thank you everyone for chipping in Smile

I wear a mix of full length wide legged trousers, 7/8th straight legged trousers and cropped wide legged trousers with a variety of blouses and if chilly a sleeveless jumper or sometimes a cardigan. I alternate between chunky lace up shoes and loafers.

My trousers are all plain colours (black, navy, khaki) and my blouses are patterned.

Sometimes I wear a midaxi length dress with same shoes.

I have some good handbags.

It’s easy, comfy and straightforward and I think looks good.

Oh and my blouses all go up to my neck but in a variety of styles.
