Has anyone used these before and can tell me what they are like? I've just picked up the universe unlocked palette in the Space NK Sale at £35 reduced from £79..... is it worth it? How do you use all the different colours/things? Does it really make a difference?

I just want to say thanks OP for alerting me to this fab bargain. I had £10 of vouchers too so I’m delighted!

Prettybaublesonmytree · 06/01/2022 10:39

I’m so tempted but it says it’s for medium to darker skin tones and I’m part zombie Xmas Sad

I remember the days before all these powders and potions to put on your face - I only seem to remember blusher coming of age in the 90s - but I do seem to look like I need a pick me up now I'm in my 40s... had my eye on this palette a while but couldn't justify the cost.

Luckily I'm not pale so hoping the medium to darker skin tones will be right for me -if not now then by the summer months certainly.

Happy I can share the love @LoveLabradors

Hourglass finishing powders are amazing. Just make you look healthy with a nice glow. Great price on that palette!

Metabigot · 06/01/2022 13:13

Yes it's a complete steal isn't it!!

LoveLabradors · 06/01/2022 13:14

It has sold out now. The slightly darker tones will suit me too especially in summer. It looks beautiful and has very good reviews. That will be a cheery January treat for me.
And yes @JorisBohnson2 sometimes when I think back to my 90s youth the amount of make up and skincare available now is just enormous compared to then! We have an overwhelming amount of choice and skincare regimes are endless compared to then. Although I guess I also take better care of skin than my teens and early twenties. Sometimes I wonder if we have too much?

Metabigot · 06/01/2022 13:30

Yes, things like serums and highlighters were unheard of by most. we definitely have too much now, but it adds a frivolous dimension to life so I'm not complaining too much.

Fenwicks have it for £39.50

lindyloo57 · 06/01/2022 17:27

Just brought it from Fenwicks, I'm supposed to be on a no buy makeup year, only managed till the 6th of jan, that's bad, I have wanted it for a long time, when I saw it was half price I couldn't resist.

It's amazing the difference prices, I paid £39.50 with free delivery, I notice in john lewis it's £55.

CandleWick4 · 07/01/2022 10:58

I got the lighter version about a month ago and I paid £50ish for it I think. It’s beautiful.

Wagsandclaws · 07/01/2022 14:12

@CandleWick4 is that also called universe?

I've had a look for it but there are so many it's confusing.

This is the one I have. It’s the lighter of the two

Well i have had the chance to try out the palette and I'm not disappointed!

The all over finishing powder does give a lovely glow as promised.

I've tried the darker blush which is good but you only need a tiny bit or you can look like Aunt Sally

I tried the highlighting powder too and it seemed to work but I was wary of going ott on all the products at once.

Not tried the bronzer or coral blush

For the ambient finishing powder alone it's worth it.

Glad you like it, I'm a little worried it might be too dark for me, I ordered it too quickly without reading the reviews and didn't realise that they did a lighter version, I have medium colour skin, never buy a fair or very light foundation, I wear medium in laura geller, medium it cosmetics cc cream.

LoveLabradors · 09/01/2022 19:26

@lindyloo57 - I use the radiant light lots in summer (diffused heat is my fave hourglass blush) and I’m IT neutral medium in winter and neutral tan in summer (green eyes, light brown hair and go quite fair in winter but tan very easily)So I think it will suit you just fine hopefully.

lindyloo57 · 09/01/2022 20:03

Thanks i will let you know how I get on when it arrives.

My skin is fairly medium this time of year and it wasn't too dark. It's quite a translucent powder, I wouldn't say it was particularly for darker skin.

Hourglass palette came today, I think it may be to dark for me, I haven't touched or tested it, so i just rang fenwicks to see if I can return it, it does say on the website you can return makeup if not used, just wanted to make sure, i think the lighter one would of been fine, but ofcourse that one not reduced.

Oh no what a shame. The lighter one is on and off offers all the time so keep an eye out. If you have an account with feel unique you get 2 brands for life that you can pick and get 10% off every order. Look fantastic always have decent 20% off codes as well. LFTFOLL sometimes works for me.
