Being petite and sustainable.

I’m 4 foot 11 and I have a hard time finding clothes as it is. I use to buy majority of my clothes from charity shops and do minor adjustments to make them fit better. However, I haven’t found anything decent in my local area for some time. I don’t drive - so I’m pretty limited where I can shop. Any ideas on brands that I could buy online that have a sustainable ethos and have a reasonable chance of fitting me ? I preferably don’t want to adjust these clothes partly because a) I would have paid a lot of money anyway b) my sewing skills are very basic and would be afraid of ruining them. Any ideas ?

Thought are a sustainable make. Have a look at their website.

I'm petite and find most of the sustainable brands like the relaxed look (ie baggy so it makes you look like a sack of potatoes unless you're tall and/or curvy). I tend to buy petite off eBay instead. As one of my friends says, the most sustainable items of clothing are the ones that already exist, whatever they are made of.

I use Depop, Ebay and Vinted and then Refashion and Thrift plus are good online charity shops.

I agree that second-hand is your best option - I identified a few brands that fit and just search them on Vinted etc. I only buy stuff that I’m confident would resell so I won’t lose money (though I might need to be patient). I do generally prefer to get stuff adjusted rather than buy from petite brands though. French brands often come up small overall (not just short) and it’s easy to get stuff like vintage Levi’s in shorter lengths. What is your clothing size? What kind of items/style are you looking for?

I'm 4 10 and find it bloody hard to find clothing and find I have to buy from more expensive brands to get a smaller fit. Certain things are OK to adjust, but when you want a nice jumper in good material, I'd have no idea how to adjust it.

I have a faithful pair of jeans that I can't find any to replace and was thinking this morning whether a knee patch would look crap! I wanted to focus on what I had, and adjust or fix etc.
