Thinking about getting this as my beautician said it helps with saggy lines you get when you smile but bit worried it may affect smile etc? Anyone had it? Worth it?

Yes and never again. I spent 6 months looking like the smug face emoji as one side 'took' more strongly than the other. I'm no stranger to botox have had it in 11s for nearly 20s years, but wouldn't use around my mouth again. Light filler works for me.

I thought fillers not botox in lower face

Yes I was surprised too but a few people I have spoken to have had it and rate it but I’m not convinced.

Filler definitely, never Botox around your mouth.

My practitioner said she wouldn't botox around the mouth and it would be fillers instead

Lennon80 · 05/01/2022 18:23

She said it’s quite popular and seemed confident it would be fine but I saw someone after they’d had it and she was talking like she’d had a stroke - it was only a hour or so after she said it was as it’s just been done but seemed odd!

Please don't let a beautician inject your face with anything. An aesthetic nurse or doctor would be safer.

Can you ask for some before and after treatment pictures of the procedure to help you decide?

I know Botox techniques have progressed over the years so it may now be ok to inject it lower in the face.

But you can't see the effect as they do it to judge the outcome, it can't be undone until it wears off, and fillers you can see the effect as you inject them and can be dissolved if needs be.
