If it’s helpful I have worn my “cape” over close fitting Uniqlo heat tech tops and with a wrap around leopard print skirt or (in contrast) with oversized “scuba” fabric joggers plus DMs. So dressing one thing down and one thing up if that makes sense.
I think for yours you need to avoid skinnies and too much black (I.e. off to do potions) and make sure you have some statement gold jewellery

I’ve tried it again and now I look monk like. I cannot get it to hang like it does in the pictures.

I don’t have the cos one but very similar. I wear mine mostly with skinny jeans and chunky heeled boots. Anything too chunky underneath makes me look like a balloon wrapped in a blanket and makes it sit oddly.

I have it. Well, I had it but I returned it today. I just couldn't get it to work and I really did want it to work. I think it's because the material just doesn't drape like it does in the product photo. Perhaps it'll work better in the navy.
I also had this poncho which I really liked but it comes up massive. I'm going to check the smaller size.

I scrolled down to the Instagrammar's photo - is that what it looks like in real life? Some serious styling going on for main photos.

I like it and would but it but for the fact that pp have said it doesn't hang as it does in the pictures. In the pictures, it looks fantastic!

@Stoic123 yes the instagram photo is much more realistic. Wish I’d scrolled that far before bothering to order it. It’s going back.

It doesn't look such a rich black in the instagram picture either.

It needs a bloody good iron in that Instagram photo!

But yes, it looks more felted and less weighted and draped in the Insta photo. It's never going to look like it does on the model. Annoying.
