Can anyone recommend a luxurious and scented body cream?

Hello

Looking for recommendations. I used to use body shop body butter, but then I think they changed the formula and it made me greasy. More recently I've been using nuxe, alternating the oil and body cream every other day, however I'm feeling a bit bored of it.

I would love recommendations for something with a long lasting scent that feels luxurious

Thank you

Another vote for the Bum bum cream here! Smells amazing and smooths skin beautifully.

I love the Rituals ones too. The Sakura body soufflé is my favourite. It is also less expensive than many other luxurious creams but feels no less indulgent.

I also like Occitane almond in the glass jar but it is twice the price of the Rituals one so it’s a no brainier for me.

Clinique body cream in the yellow tube has long been a favourite of mine too, really luxurious and does a fantastic job. Lovely scent.

Laura Mercier Creme Brulee body cream is amazing 🥰

I like Elemis Frangipani Monoi Body Oil. It turns solid in at room temperature so I put the bottle in the sink with a little hot water while I shower. I apply it straight onto my skin while still in the shower. There body cream is nice as well and it all smells amazing.

Molten Brown “Gingerlily” is gorgeous. Scent lasts all day.

Another vote for &otherstories I use the Deja Vu Mood kind and frequently get compliments on my perfume even when I’m not wearing anything else.

Rituals all the way: they do a mousse oil in a can like hair mousse and it’s fab : also highly recommend their hand cream, the best I’ve ever used

I have always wanted to try that. It's definitely going on my list now. Thank you Smile

Yes, I can thoroughly recommend Aldi's Pomegranite body lotion. Fabulous smell, quite strong and only around £3 a bottle...........don't knock it until you've tried it. They also do a matching handwash and candle. Leaves a lingering smell on the body and in the room.

@Lookingoutside

Beauty Pie, Super Healthy Skin oil in cream body butter. Smells like holidays and an expensive spa all at once and it makes my skin silky and even toned.
Agree, this feels soooo much more expensive than it is!
LookdeepintotheParka · 05/01/2022 21:25

@RozinaBullock I agree the quality of the Aldi pomegranate body lotion is amazing for the price! The JM dupe fragrances they do are also really good.

@allfurcoatnoknickers

L'Occitane Almond body lotion in the big glass jar. Smells amazing.
Absolutely this - it's my must have treat!

Body Shop consultant here, yes the body butters changed formula last year, they come in a few different consistencies depending on how dry your skin actually is. For a more luxurious alternative, the spa of the world Japanese Camellia Cream is just beautiful, whipped texture and luscious scent.

WellTidy · 05/01/2022 23:28

I am using the Elemis frangipani monoi body oil recommended upthread at the moment. It is excellent and a small amount goes a long way. It melts really quickly if you put the bottle in water and sinks in quickly too.lovely smell, but not too strong. I have a sample 35g/ml bottle and based on how much I have left, I think it only takes about 3ml to cover my whole body. I would definitely buy it if I didn’t already have lots of other body creams to use up.

No7 protect and perfect body serum or any of the jo malone body creams beatugiful big jars too!! Im using fresh pear and freesia.

It depends what sort of fragrances you like too. I had a gift if the Laura Mercier trio and had to give it away as they’re all so sweet and sickly. But if you like vanilla/sweet scented things then they’re probably great.

I don’t find the white coined rich enough.

I absolutely love the Clarins Moisture Rich body lotion. It is thick and luxurious but soaked in easily too, it smells really nice but it’s not a strong scent like some of the more perfumed ones.

The Ellie Saab Le Parfum body lotion gives a lovely fragrance but it’s not the richest lotion.

The body shop Vit E body butter is good for legs, not greasy but is thick and soaks in well. I don’t like wasting my more expensive ones on my legs!

I love Neals yard Aromatic Sleep body butter. Very rich, gorgeous smell and cruelty free.

Slidey23 · 08/01/2022 10:05

I have super dry skin, I used to love the Body Shop body butters but went off them when they tripled in price and am not so keen on the fruity fragrances.

My favourite budget option is Palmers Cocoa butter, aside from that then Beauty Pie Superskin body cream, and Elemis Frangipani oil which has amazing fragrance (I save mine for holidays). For decent every day moisturising I don’t think the Palmers products can be beaten.

(I have the CeraVe rich cream too but there’s no fragrance).

BestIsWest · 08/01/2022 10:05

Aromatic Body butter. Not sleep body butter.

I love body creams But I get really dry itchy skin on my legs & the only thing that actually works to relieve it is Aveeno skin relief. It's unscented.

I also have Tom Ford Neroli Portofino body moisturizer & I adore it's scent (also use the perfume) so I sometimes use that on my arms / shoulders just to layer up

But day to day it's plain old Aveeno! We were away before Christmas & I forgot to decent some to bring on the flight. The water in the hotel really dried out my skin on my legs so badly I ended up nipping into a L'occitane & paid a small fortune for a tub of shea butter body cream - the richest one i could find but it didn't solve the issue. Smells nice, if a little strong.

Came home & within a day back using the Aveeno my legs were fine again.
