Dr marten boots!

So I really want to buy a pair but no idea what to do with the sizing!
I am normally a 6.5/7 in places like next for boots. Would a 7 be too small?
I accidentally ordered a 6 (well actually they sent me a 6 when my order said 7!) and after squeezing my foot into it, it literally took me ten minutes to get it out and that is by no means an exaggeration 😂😂😂

A 7 should be fine with comfortable socks. I have several pairs in a size 6 and that's my usual shoe size. Two traditional that have strong support on the back and ankle and one navy pair that have a soft back and I'd always go traditional as my feet like the extra support (they take more breaking in though).

The shop assistant told me recently that they come up big and people usually size down. The DM website suggests going down half a size.
I tried on size 6 (my usual size )’in the shop. The one on the shop floor was too big for me. The size 6 in the box was fine but it was brand new.
I have since ordered a size 5 but am concerned they will be tight across the toe.
I should add I tried on the soft leather one which might be different to the traditional leather ones.

I usually wear a 5/5.5 and have two pairs in a 5 and find them plenty big enough

Yes a 7 will be fine for you. I'm range between a 7 and 8, bought some 8s and they're far too big. Now I have 7s and they're plenty big enough, lots of spare room (they are hard to get on and off though, think it's the stiffness of the leather. I'm going to buy some longer laces so they can be undone more when taking on and off - without laces falling out.

Thank you all! I was so hoping you would all say that they are small sizes as the ones I really want are out of stock in my size 🙈 Never mind I will go for the 7 😀

I buy a half size smaller, but I find they come up big, then I put in fleecy insoles, and once they at worn in they are perfect.

I wear a 6.5 in M&S and Clark’s and a 7 everywhere else. My DMs are a 7 and a very good fit.

I buy half a size smaller and they fit fine
