Red evening dress for a petite size 22?

I need an evening dress for an event and I'm struggling to find something right in my size (22). It has to be red/pink/burgundy and most people will be wearing floor length, but I'm only 5 foot so I'm having trouble finding anything plus size in petite. Getting a long dress altered is an option, but I'm not sure where I would go to get this done so would prefer to avoid. I'm wondering if a bridesmaid dress type of place might make something to measure? But that could be a big investment if I then don't like it on. Budget is no limit really, although if I spend a lot I'd want something I could see myself wearing several times. Any recommendations?

That's exactly the kind of thing I need. Just not sure what to do about the length. Maybe I should just buy a long one and get it altered. I was really hoping to find just that kind of thing, but in petite!

I think monsoon do plus size evening wear, not sure about petite but you could maybe try midi length?

Gina Bacconi evening dresses aren't overly long - I'm 5'3 and her long stuff was just above the floor on me. Good quality too although I sized up as I found some of them unforgiving.

I've had dresses adjusted a few times since I got married, had my wedding dress tailored, and realised how easy it was to pay someone to do it 😂.

Have a Google in your area for seamstress, dress alterations, tailoring etc - or ask on a local Facebook group, you'll find lots of names usually come up!
