How to dress for an occasion with massive boobs

SparrowNest · 02/01/2022 16:03

I’ve already had slightly disproportionate boobs, but now I’m breastfeeding and wearing a 34GG which honestly is still a bit tight, I think I might actually need an H. My waist and hip measurements are a size 10. I’ve got broader than average shoulders, but not extremely so.

What the hell am I supposed to wear to a wedding? I’d need maybe a size 18 dress to fit my boobs, which would drown me everywhere else. I could try stretchy fabric, but I don’t think jersey tends to look very smart and even with the stretch I think I’d need to size up. Tailoring would be even more hopeless. How am I supposed to look decent in a tailored jacket?

Please help me. It will be a spring wedding.

If anyone has any more general advice for dressing my sort of body, that would be great too. It’s depressing me that clothes just aren’t made to fit me, never mind look good.

Could you get something to fit your boobs and then have it altered by a dressmaker to fit your waist and hips ?

SparrowNest · 02/01/2022 16:06

I’ve never had something altered before, maybe I need to look into it. Do you think they would manage when it’s such a big difference? As in 3 or 4 clothes sizes rather than just one.

I’m not sure tbh
But if they are tailoring in then possibly
Worth asking and of course it may depend on the style of the item , they may be able to advise you
I would imagine for example that a jumpsuit with a waistband , would be more difficult than one that just skims the waist . More complicated

Appalonia · 02/01/2022 16:13

I'm a 34g so I get your pain! I tend to wear longer dresses to balance out the top half. Dresses which you can tighten the waist with a tie are good. Maybe a pantsuit with a different size jacket and straight legged trousers? A wrap dress with a fitted jacket, or a nice shawl? Sorry, OP, dressing large boobs is a full time job!

marriednotdead · 02/01/2022 16:16

Tailoring definitely the way to go if you can.
Sometimes your bust gets smaller over the course of breastfeeding, it goes like that in our family but if it's your first, you won't know.

Bravissimo stopped selling fuller bust clothing recently but have kindly put a helpful list up on their website of other retailers.

Appalonia · 02/01/2022 16:16

There's some dresses on sale at Bravissimo at the moment.

Theredjellybean · 02/01/2022 16:18

try bravissimo - they have clothing range cut and designed for bigger boobs, and the clothes come in a range of sizes so someone with your stats i think would be a 10 super curvy..so the chest bit of a dress is cut to accommodate your bigger boobs

marriednotdead · 02/01/2022 16:19

The Collectif Dolores dress comes in many colours and is very roomy in the bust. As it's fit and flare, it balances out top and bottom.

What about something like this?

Try the Pretty dress company and bombshell hq dresses. Made for slender girls with big boobs. I swear by them!

SparrowNest · 02/01/2022 16:39

Thank you everyone who has replied!

Do you think this would work for a wedding? Most stuff left in my side in bravissimo is black, denim etc.

When is the wedding? That looks like a beach dress to me. I’ve just scrolled back & see you’ve said Spring. I would wait until closer to the event as your body will keep changing.

KittyBurrito · 02/01/2022 16:44

Depends on your budget. Bombshell HQ worth a look? Some stuff is a bit mother of the bride, but there are other dresses there I would deffo wear.

Boboparadise · 02/01/2022 16:48

I have a similar body size to you..and I'm not bloody breastfeeding 🙄. We had a wedding recently and I ordered 5 dresses online...all 5 went back before I used a backup wrap dress I'd got from ax Paris in new look. It was absolutely beautiful on the day and very flattering..although vey booby but what can you do 😬. I was complimented all day and have fell in love it hit so much I have bought it in different colours and patterns for future

Appalonia · 02/01/2022 16:51

That's a pretty dress! What colours suit you?

KittyBurrito · 02/01/2022 16:51

Do you prefer prints or plain OP? This is a nice plain which you could accessories up? www.bombshellhq.com/collections/confident-2021/products/new-navy-moss-crepe-3-4-sleeve-confident-dress

Going against the grain here (but I am a size 12 with G cup boobs!).

I’d go for a really good quality pair of cigarette trousers, maybe in a navy, and a similar coloured camisole top, then over the top put a short(ish) kimono jacket and some really pretty shoes and jewellery, the jacket/cami combo would make feeding easy. Provided the jacket isn’t too long, it won’t drown you. It’ll show your bottom half off well. One Hundred Stars have some lovely jackets in the sale at the moment. You’d wear it again afterwards too. This one is gorgeous:

I never understand why people recommend wrap dresses. They always make my boobs look bigger

Agree, for a wedding nowadays just wear what style suit you normally but make them in luxury fabric

Mykittensmittens · 02/01/2022 17:01

@Ohmycron I do agree with your comment. Wrap dresses make me look like a big titted caricature and I’m always tugging at them. And people stare at my chest just a bit too much. Something flattering and not frumpy works better.

Ohmycron · 02/01/2022 17:03

People who look good at weddings are not people dressed in things never normally wear, they’re people who dress in styles that they know suit them , in fab colours that go with a complexions and spend money on having their hair done and cool accessories that people will talk to you about, like nice shoes.
Love the kimono idea with a silk plain vest or tee under. Super chic

Yup. Like two bullets. I hate them. See also skater dresses.

GalacticGoddess · 02/01/2022 17:07

My mum has g cup boobs and always goes for wrap style dresses that show off cleavage. She always looks great!

When I had bigger boobs while breastfeeding I went for things that complimented my new shape, I don't mind cleavage either though!

On a side note. I'm always so jealous of women with slim frames and big boobs, it's my dream figure. Im naturally small busted and I hate it!
