Anyone know if this is any good? It's pricey but is it worth it? I'm looking at their blushes and need someone to talk me out of it if it's no better than the rimmel blushes!

@ChequerBoard

Seconding the cheek gellee, it's lovely for a subtle, really natural looking blush but also builds of you want a bit more pop.

I have the shade 'happy' works well with my fair/pale skin and dark eyes/hair.

Thanks for the shade hints!

I have quite a lot of Chantecaille. The powder blushes are average IMHO. Things I really rate are:

  • cheek gelees
  • blur face powder
  • Just Skin tinted moisturiser
  • concealer that comes in a clicky pen (I'm on at least my 3rd)
  • Lip Chic and Lip Veil lipsticks
  • Luminescent eyeshadows

@violetbunny

Thank you! I was looking at the Luminescent eyeshadows and the pangolin one is on my list of maybes now. Are they really sparkly? Or more of a pearl effect?

Pangolin is my favourite one. They are sparkly, but it's a "grown up", elegant sparkle (not super glittery) if that makes sense. Some are sparklier than others, for instance the Lion shade is less sparkly and more just like a smooth metallic.

I love Chantecaille and am here to enable. I have the foundation, cheek gellee, liquid highlighter and luminescent eyeshadows. Also a couple of limited edition highlighters. All of it is lovely and though the initial layout is painful it does last a long time.

I tend to invest in it for skin products, where I think you get what you pay for - I wouldn't bother for basics like mascara or eyeliner.

BeefSupreme · 02/01/2022 23:03

I bought the lion luminescent eyeshadow last year when there was a 25% sale. It is my favourite eyeshadow I’ve ever bought. The texture is so nice and it doesn’t crease like all other eyeshadows seem to do.

I’m trying to cut back on my spending this year but that doesn’t mean I can’t drop heavy hints about chantecaille makeup to other people for my birthday Grin

HemanOrSheRa · 02/01/2022 23:26

No no no no no. I've been avoiding this thread all day. Sigh.

LaBuenaVida · 03/01/2022 01:05

I absolutely love the HD powder which is the ONLY powder that doesn't look cakey on me. Also the Just Skin tinted moisturiser. And I am obviously now obsessed with the mascara 😆

Sorry a 25% sale? WOOOOOP!

OK I'm going to get pangolin now and wait for a sale!

I have just ordered the cheek Gelee, mascara and a lipstick. Blush I was umming and ahhing over placing an order. This thread tipped it for me Envy

I do want to try the either tinted moisturiser or future skin. But just bough CT Hollywood filter, so will use that first.

Deathraystare · 03/01/2022 08:27

I like the look of their eyeshadows but will not consider buying them.

ChardonnaysPetDragon · 03/01/2022 09:30

I like the Timken moisturiser and the foundation but their shades are very limited and it's difficult to find the right one.

ChardonnaysPetDragon · 03/01/2022 09:30

Tinted even.

GoldilocksZone · 03/01/2022 09:32

Amazing lipsticks

ChardonnaysPetDragon · 03/01/2022 09:37

There no way on God's green ears I'm paying sixty quid for a mascara though.

Ha, I was once convinced of this too, I've been using it for about ten years now Blush

In my defense, when I first bought it was something like $48 in the US and the exchange rate worked in my favour and lash lengthening serums were much more expensive than that. The price is insane though, there's little to explain it. I tend to wait for SpaceNK's offer when they do £15 off a £60 purchase, I can live with it at that price point.

ChardonnaysPetDragon · 03/01/2022 09:59

Honestly, botemp it's just my opinion. You absolutely don't have to justify yourself to a random person on the internet, you don't need a defence for anything you do, it's your decision and you are perfectly entitled to it.

AprilLady · 03/01/2022 12:05

Another Chantecaille fan here, especially the Just Skin tinted moisturiser, which I think is more like a light foundation. I do wait for sales though. Skinstore (US site, unfortunately part of the Hut Group) do 25% off Chantecaille every now and again, with free postage, so worth looking out for.

LoannaJumley · 03/01/2022 17:59

Ffs I've avoided this thread ALL day and been reading the no/low spend beauty thread. Now all my good intentions have gone poof as I'm looking longingly at a £63 mascara in my basket Grin

BoopTheFloof · 03/01/2022 18:50

@ChardonnaysPetDragon Honestly, it’s your loss.

LoveLabradors · 03/01/2022 18:58

I got the chantecaille longest lash mascara in a Liberty GWP (a trial size one) and I have to say it was gorgeous mascara. But I cannot justify paying £60 for a mascara - even if it was wonderful. I love how focused the brand is on wildlife though, to actually highlight the plight of pangolins to me does offset the cost of the products! I’m using a trial size of the radiance elixir and that is fab.

ChardonnaysPetDragon · 03/01/2022 19:01

At £60 a pop I rather think not.

There are many other mascaras with peptides. Anyway, whatever floats your boat.

Laiste · 03/01/2022 19:36

Where i have been? Confused

I have managed to never hear of this brand Shock

Backstreetsbackalrightdadada · 03/01/2022 20:06

I’ve never really seen this in real life (in selfridges from afar!) and just managed to buy three products (powder, liquid blush and lipstick). Well my New Years resolution was to do happy things so here we go! :)

Saurus72 · 03/01/2022 21:53

I really like the mermaid eyeshadows and the tinted tip balms, they make me feel quite polished for everyday. I recently bought the rhinoceros luminescent eyeshadow which is a beautiful muted olive - considering the lion one too. Have been (willingly) enabled by this thread and spent my Liberty beauty drop top up on the cheek gelee in Lively which will hopefully perk up my grey winter cheeks. I love that it feels luxurious and is cruelty free - the best combination imho.
