Foreo Bear - pricing and using it!

Have decided to invest in a Foreo Bear. Does anyone recollect how low a price it can get to when discounted? I can see it reduced to £223 at the moment and wonder whether that’s a bargain or should I hold off for further reductions?

Also, usage! If using it in the evening, would it be best to do first cleanse, use Bear, second cleanse to remove gel plus continue with usual evening routine? Can I continue using LA and retinol? I assume so but want to check just in case!

Recommendations for gel would be much appreciated too please!

TIA.

I've just bought it so can't help much with the usage but I got mine from LookFantastic for £200 for the Bear and full sized serum bundle, was reduced to about £220 but I used the Take10 code which took another 10% off. The Bear without the serum was still £270ish.

I've seen a lot of people mention using aloe as the conductor.

Cult beauty also has it in the sale with an extra 10% off. I assume it's the same price as LF (I can only see the price in Euros) as they're owned by the same company now but Cult Beauty has better cashback rates where they're low on electronic items on LF, iirc. That's a further few percent off. Rates may have changed since the takeover though.

I do double cleanse as you want it absolutely clean, no excess oil/sebum on the skin, then Bear with CosRX snail muccin (this doesn't need to be cleaned off) then rest of routine. If you use any serums that are oil free you can layer it under the CosRx (or the Foreo serum). Aloe is apparently not as good a conductor, Foreo says you can use any oil free watery serum you don't need to buy their overpriced one but don't recommend aloe.

I just bagged the Luna 3 Plus from Cult Beauty for £190 instead of £270ish. It's discounted and there are bundles of 20% and other codes floating about. Worth trying for the bear as well.

I got the Bear for £156.40 in the Black Friday sales from CurrentBody which is lowest I’ve ever seen it.

I double cleanse, then use an ultrasound gel for the Bear, wash that off and continue with the rest of my routine as normal. I use retinol with no problems after.

Thank you for your replies. Wow @Talisin, that was an amazing discount! They’re matching Look Fantastic at the moment. Are you happy with it thus far?

@botemp, please tell me about the CosRx product. The mere mention of snail had me google it and it gets great reviews. Do you use another serum after that or do you get enough benefit from that with the Bear? Does the bottle last long?

@Uptoongirl, I shall give that code a shot and see if it still works, thank you!

I use moisturiser over the top and then I use my prescription tretinoin cream. I sometimes use some thermal water to reactivate it when I'm doing a longer routine with the bear. The snail muccin absorbs into the skin beautifully when done and it's quite hydrating but you can layer another serum over it if you want, occasionally I'll layer an oil free serum or acid toner under it. The full name is CosRX Advanced Snail 96 Mucin Power Essence btw as they have a couple of snail products. Bottle lasts really long, couple of months at least, can't say exactly how long as you use the bear quite frequently to start and then use it less frequently.

Don’t waste your money. I bought it after reading lots of threads on MN and I can’t see how it can work or my face is just beyond repair not sure. It also electrocutes me even though I am drenched in Aloe Vera.

Rosielil · 01/01/2022 18:37

Thanks @botemp, it sounds worth a shot. I’m just abput out if my current serum so have been keeping an eye out for something different to try. It’s slightly discounted with Feel Unique atm if you want to stock up!

I have one and have been using it for about 8 months. I don’t follow the app tutorial, I use it in sections, till it goes off. Once on each jaw, left and right. Under my jaw/neck - and each cheek - so 5 full times till it goes off. I do it before I wash in the morning. If I have less time I just do my jawline and neck. I don’t do my eye area or forehead as I don’t need it there. I use a gel from Amazon which is great. Conductive Gel 500 ml Ultrasound... www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B06XKLFM5M?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share&tag=mumsnetforu03-21

You could also do it at night. It’s a commitment but it has worked for me, especially on my jawline and under my jaw/neck/chin.

If the gel dries a little when I’m using I just dab a bit of water on & it replenishes it.
