Anyone else think these 'Art and Craft' fingernails just look awful?!

My hairdresser got them ... About three inches long and suddenly she just couldn't cut my hair properly. 😡

If it gives people joy then I don't see the harm, humans have always liked to adorn themselves.

I personally don't have them because I find them irritating although I love some of the designs I have seen.

Iam not sure what you mean by arts and crafts nails tbh, google was not helpful, but I do know more about escutcheon pins than I did!

I'd moan to her about your hair though if she has made a cock job of it as she cannot hold her tools properly that's a poor show!

Whata art and craft nails?

Redcrayons · 01/01/2022 15:05

Google is not helping me with arts and crafts nails. What are they?

CrappyXmasMarket · 01/01/2022 16:28

Do you mean nail art OP?

BlueSkyeThinker · 01/01/2022 16:35

DD has serious nails at the moment. Pointy, two-tone talony jobs. She has to ask us to open cans of Coke for her. But she taps things impatiently like nobody's business.

Normski67 · 02/01/2022 15:04

What are art & craft nails please? My hairdresser says acrylics help her with doing hair, like they’re an extra tool.

Snowisfalling33 · 02/01/2022 15:31

Do you nail art? This sort of thing?
I love some of the designs, so pretty!
I don't think I could wear them and function in everyday life though Grin

Do you mean acrylics? I even googled and am non the wiser....

DedafalalalalalusBloom · 02/01/2022 17:46

I absolutely love looking at nail art on insta.
I used to have regular gel extensions as my job ( florist) fucks up my nails beyond belief but I also do a lot of crafts and it became impossible to pick up fiddly pins or pick at seams with gel nails so I'm back to split thinning real nails and wishing I had a job where my hands didn't look like they belonged to an arthritic tramp most of the time. Art and Craft nails?!

I’m imagining them intricately carved out of light oak with William Morris designs 🤨

lightisnotwhite · 02/01/2022 22:06

Surely long nails are the antithesis of arts and crafts? They should be practical first and then have an pleasing rural influenced aesthetic.

lightisnotwhite · 02/01/2022 22:06

Do they do nails in Liberty print? Is that what it is?

Westerman · 02/01/2022 22:08

Come back with a link, please, OP!

Candleabra · 02/01/2022 22:09

I was totally imagining something like this too!
Postdatedpandemic · 02/01/2022 22:11

Beautiful and functional?

Or do you mean something else @HoneyFlowers ?

forcedfun · 02/01/2022 22:34

I am also imagining William Morris nails... But do you just mean nail art?

TeachesOfPeaches · 02/01/2022 22:37

I googled and got nothing but I'm imagining very long nails with gemstones and tiny 3D ornaments stuck to them?

HoneyFlowers · 02/01/2022 23:25

Yes, I'm talking super long glued on nails with lots of stuff stuck all over them. My hairdresser got them and when she did my son's hair you could see she could not operate a pair of scissors! He ended up with a crooked lumpy haircut!
