Jigsaw zebra coat

I’m after a new coat and am size 12 and 5 ft 5. Am I mad spending this much on a coat? I have spent more. I just love the zebra print and wrap style. I do have other coats but not same length or pattern (more block) or are padded.

I think if you Love it and can afford it buy it. It’s not for me and looks quit eludicrous to me, but opinions will vary,

MilitantFaucet · 31/12/2021 08:51

It’s hideous

Nitgel · 31/12/2021 08:53

I wouldn't say it was hideous. Buy and try you can always return.

snapsieplopp · 31/12/2021 08:55

I like it, nice to mix it up with a pattern.

Rina66 · 31/12/2021 08:57

Love it, think you'll wear it for years. It'll always elevate a basic outfit underneath, all black or jeans and a white shirt. As zebra prints go, the taupe background makes it more subtle. I've got a faux fur leopard print Wallis swing coat I've had for 30 years, it still gets an outing periodically and I still get asked where it's from!

This is more wearable.

It's a great coat.

Whingasaurus · 31/12/2021 09:10

That coats lovely but that model and her outfit under it are not doing it any favours whoever styles these things needs a good talking to

thebigpurpleone · 31/12/2021 09:13

This is pretty similar for considerably less. www.riverisland.com/p/grey-animal-print-oversized-coat-783030

mynameiscalypso · 31/12/2021 09:17

There is no way I need another coat but I want this so much.

Positiveyearaheadplease · 31/12/2021 09:39

Not my cup of tea but why not see what its like in real life so to speak.

But I bought some items from Jigsaw the quality was dreadful for the cost of the clothing, nothing like they used to be, all went back

LadyTiredWinterBottom2 · 31/12/2021 09:45

It's lovely but l would be concerned about longevity. If it was 80 quid it wouldn't matter so much.

@Positiveyearaheadplease - I think I’ll pass on it then! It’s a lovely coat but I just don’t think the quality will be there and I’m not near a Jigsaw to try on in person.

I'm the same size and height and I think that coat would swamp me, although I do like the pattern.

WildCherryBlossom · 31/12/2021 15:34

I really like this. It wouldn't suit me - I can't pull off belted coats at all. I make them look like dressing gowns unfortunately. But I totally agree with pp who said it would dress up a variety of different outfits. Why don't you order it OP and try it out with various clothes at home. You can always send it back.

WhatAHexIGotInto · 31/12/2021 18:17

I think it would be nicer if the print was smaller if you know what I mean? I'm the same height and size as you and I think that would make me look huge.

I bought a coat from Jigsaw and it lasted years. I find their quality still excellent and their stuff washes and lasts well.
GiveYourHeadAWobble · 01/01/2022 11:56

I love it. It would look great with a really simple outfit such as black jeans and a plain cashmere jumper in a colour that suits you. I’d definitely buy that coat if I needed a new one.

Gonnagetgoing · 01/01/2022 11:58

Hmmm if it comes back in stock I’ll order it. Not sure about shelling out £800 at once for 2 sizes though! Might see if it’s in stock locally to where I live - forgot there was a shop a 5-10 minute drive away.

@GiveYourHeadAWobble - I don’t need a new coat by any means but it’s either this or a navy/black wool coat and I love zebra! It’d go perfectly with some old M&S zebra trainers I have as well as black jeans and cashmere jumper. Don’t really do cashmere much as scared of washing it but that’s another investment purchase.

It's too distinctive for that price .

sansucre · 01/01/2022 12:05

I'm not usually a fan of patterns but I have been contemplating this myself. I wear quite simple clothes in neutral colours, heavy on the navy, so know this will work with everything in my wardrobe.

While Jigsaw's quality can be hit and miss, their coats are always beautifully made. I have seen this in the flesh and tried it on and it is definitely one of their better items. I'm usually an XS in Jigsaw but size up in coats. The S was good but I rather liked the oversized quality of the M. My indecision about which size to buy is the only reason I have not purchased this yet

tanama · 01/01/2022 12:10

I love it too and have been contemplating whether to get it

Thatswhatmamasaid · 01/01/2022 12:10

£400 for a coat that's 52% polyester Shock. I would wait for it to go in sale OP.

Gonnagetgoing · 01/01/2022 12:12

@Thatswhatmamasaid - see I’m unsure as if it would go in sale but would be gutted if it didn’t and I missed it!
