Any recommendations for a dress that will show off my bum?
Or what kind of fabric will cling best?

Most of my dresses don't seem to do me any favours and the heavier fabrics seem to flatten me.

Yes, or accentuate her waist or show off her legs as I said. I think women should be able to dress in a way that flatters their figure. And should be able to ask about that on a style and beauty forum targeted at women. If OP has a fabulous bum, good on her. Why do you think that's a problem?

I didn’t say I thought it was a problem. I said I thought it was odd.

And we don’t know whether the OP has a “fabulous bum”. Just that she wants suggestions for a dress or fabric that clings to her “ass”.

Why's that odd? Is it odd to want to show off your figure or wear a nice dress/skirt that really shows your bum or ass as the OP has said?

But why can't someone want a dress that highlights their ass, everyone has parts of their body they like. I really don't see how it's odd to ask for suggestions.

But others decide to show off their tits and they don't get as much negativity. If someone wants to show off their butt it doesn't mean they don't have a nice face. Just means they also like their butt. People are allowed to like and accentuate their body.

OP - I’m sure it’s not too difficult to work out that a tight skirt will show off your ass. If that’s really what you want people to notice about you, of course.

Good Lord ladies. Maybe leave S&B. Clearly not your thing. These responses smack of jealousy.

OP, look for a fine ribbed jumper midi dress - I find they really cling and show outline of curves well.
Also tight ruched skirts - especially in a satin fabric as the shininess seems to accentuate the curves more.
